[00:00:04.633]of Civil Engineering at the University of Nebraska
[00:00:06.408]in Lincoln, and I'm a professor of
[00:00:08.157]Structural Engineering in the department.
[00:00:10.363]My research focuses on transportation infrastructure,
[00:00:13.113]specifically bridges, and how to make the infrastructure
[00:00:15.974]last longer, and be as safe as possible.

[00:00:21.850]So, when the University imploded Cather and Pound,
[00:00:24.399]we were able to gather data from the buildings
[00:00:26.725]from adjacent sites, while the implosions were happening.
[00:00:29.196]And that data set is extremely unique.
[00:00:32.688]Not only within Nebraska,
[00:00:34.531]but across the country and around the world.
[00:00:36.736]And the information that we've developed and will provide,
[00:00:39.576]is going to be used by many people
[00:00:41.833]to make the world a better place to live.

[00:00:48.595]why I chose to come to Nebraska.
