- [00:00:12.278]for Engler students, alum, and faculty.
- [00:00:15.056]As students will be launching their ideas
- [00:00:16.603]into an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex,
- [00:00:19.577]and ambiguous world, Ruthie immersed Englers
- [00:00:21.900]into the drivers of change.
- [00:00:23.433]Drivers of change are also referred to as
- [00:00:25.587]disruptive influencers, large-scale forces,
- [00:00:27.971]and tools for finding future growth.
- [00:00:30.221]The categories include social, technological,
- [00:00:33.260]economic, environmental, political, and wellbeing.
- [00:00:37.492]In each of these domains, there is a number
- [00:00:39.114]of connected drivers such as continued advancements in
- [00:00:42.208]solar production, persistent youth under-employment,
- [00:00:45.009]and rise of public and private partnerships.
- [00:00:47.690]Students were challenged to consider multiple
- [00:00:49.416]drivers to create future scenarios.
- [00:00:51.653]The question was, rather than being victimized by them,
- [00:00:54.307]how can we use drivers as momentum to build something?
- [00:00:57.605]And this is me, Emily.
- [00:00:59.238]If you're still wondering what this workshop is all about,
- [00:01:01.424]I have put together a series of emotions
- [00:01:03.144]I experienced during the two days.
- [00:01:06.091]Alright, here we go, networking is totally my jam.
- [00:01:09.075]I'm applying all of this to my business
- [00:01:11.068]and it's definitely gonna be amazing.
- [00:01:13.187]So, is anyone else confused about what's going on right now?
- [00:01:16.077]Happy dancing because I'm pumped to be
- [00:01:18.040]surrounded by awesome people.
- [00:01:19.431]I don't really know what I'm doing,
- [00:01:20.639]but I'm gonna pretend like I do.
- [00:01:22.093]But, like, where can I get some coffee?
- [00:01:24.389]My head and heart are full of optimism
- [00:01:26.450]for what the future holds.
- [00:01:28.162]Everything I'm learning is so enlightening
- [00:01:29.905]and life-changing.
- [00:01:31.188]But also my brain seriously hurts from
- [00:01:32.716]all of this information.
- [00:01:34.249]Now I'm ready to tackle whatever my business throws at me.
- [00:01:37.567]This workshop that focused on being proactive in a world of
- [00:01:39.845]change was just like any entrepreneurial journey.
