- [00:00:30.668]After moving to Lincoln and being welcomed
- [00:00:31.997]into this community, I'm continually amazed
- [00:00:34.648]by the diversity, inclusivity,
- [00:00:37.178]and passion that I experience on a daily basis.
- [00:00:41.241]That's why after I graduate I'm staying in Lincoln
- [00:00:44.389]to attend law school right here

- [00:01:14.648]If you attend this school, and can't find a group
- [00:01:17.528]of light-minded individuals
- [00:01:19.459]with the same passions as yourself,
- [00:01:21.499]who care about you and want you to succeed,

- [00:01:39.907]The social sciences teach theories and formulas
- [00:01:43.401]but they also teach world views

- [00:02:02.027]We've seen apathy toward environmental destruction

- [00:02:08.835]for millions across the globe.
- [00:02:10.987]We've seen frightening examples of social injustice

- [00:02:25.915]Over my time at this university
- [00:02:26.976]we've also seen young people
- [00:02:29.102]in the millions mobilize to protest gun violence,
- [00:02:33.206]and the abuses of those in power.
- [00:02:35.755]Just yesterday for the first time in history,
- [00:02:39.035]the leader of North Korea stepped
- [00:02:41.215]onto South Korean soil to discuss a possible end
- [00:02:45.175]to decades long conflict and hostilities
- [00:02:47.912]that just weeks ago threatened The United States
- [00:02:51.355]and its allies with thermonuclear destruction.
- [00:02:55.366]I know the people in this room will be
- [00:02:57.455]at the forefront of confronting injustice
- [00:02:59.886]and human suffering in all of its forms.
- [00:03:03.314]Always be curious, always be compassionate,
