Graduate students in Child, Youth and Family Studies observe depictions of family in Sheldon artworks to inform the student's own therapy work with diverse families.

[00:01:03.634]sheltering all her children.
[00:01:05.325]This one really speaks to me because
[00:01:06.773]my own mom is a single mom.
[00:01:08.950]I could see so much of this portrait
[00:01:12.792]of this lady, and my mom too.
[00:01:14.608]A facility like this changes up the feel
[00:01:17.374]of just sitting down and taking notes.
[00:01:19.150]We had to come and kind of move around
[00:01:21.610]we could see different aspects of different lives.

[00:01:26.914]different people have different thoughts about it
[00:01:29.290]and that's what I feel with my clients too.

[00:01:34.560]and I never thought about it that way.
[00:01:36.984]The artists and those creative minds
[00:01:40.738]see in society things that when
[00:01:44.230]we get stuck in our numbers and data that we miss.
