[00:00:10.040]First of all it's just really exciting
[00:00:11.539]to come back an graduate.
[00:00:13.748]This has been a life long dream to finally to be here
[00:00:17.429]to walk across that stage.
[00:00:19.160]It means a lot for not only me but for my family
[00:00:21.800]and everybody that's helped me to get to this point.
[00:00:24.549]But what I'm most excited about is
[00:00:25.909]after I get across the stage,
[00:00:27.598]for helping the students in the future,
[00:00:29.389]that I can help when they see their goal
[00:00:31.898]of walking across that stage one, two, three,
[00:00:35.339]four times in their career
[00:00:37.216]so this only is the beginning what I see
[00:00:40.459]of a great journey that's about to happen.
[00:00:42.628]And getting this degree from UNL makes it all the better,
[00:00:45.607]so part of the huge family.
[00:00:47.518]I'm so excited I just flew in yesterday from California
[00:00:49.699]so we're super excited, very hyped
[00:00:52.438]and I don't know what to say
[00:00:54.419]it's just so surreal.
[00:00:56.377]I hope to advance my career administratively.
[00:00:58.595]I also hope to go into the faculty route
[00:01:00.949]to do some research and kinda of work with students as well.
[00:01:04.739]Well you know, this is the part that's been tremendous,
[00:01:07.349]and I'm really looking forward to the opportunity
[00:01:09.326]and the door's that'll open for me.
[00:01:11.638]The networking that will come from this Ph.D.
[00:01:14.216]and this program has really put me
[00:01:15.554]in a unique position through the women's conference
[00:01:17.776]and through my peers and the professors
[00:01:19.955]to be well connected,
[00:01:21.214]so I'm forward to just growing in my field.
[00:01:24.342]I feel very excited.
[00:01:26.144]It seems like as if I've climbed a big mountain
[00:01:28.656]Mount Everest (laughs).
[00:01:30.663]Very exciting and so thankful.
[00:01:34.045]I'm looking forward to growing all what I've learnt.
[00:01:39.075]Looking forward to applying that in practice
[00:01:41.885]and continue working here at UNL, keep working
[00:01:44.696]and helping faculty, and students and student's success
[00:01:50.221]so that's my mission.
[00:01:51.472]Just a new beginning for a new journey in the future.
[00:01:55.928]I really appreciate Doctor Grady and committee members
[00:01:59.314]and all the friends help me out on this program.
[00:02:03.325]and how I just struggled,
[00:02:05.275]but finally I survived so I can finish.
[00:02:10.125]And I get to live vicariously both
[00:02:13.384]through their backgrounds and their research interest
[00:02:15.937]but also through their job changes
[00:02:19.785]as they're in the program
[00:02:21.576]and all of them bring their family backgrounds,
[00:02:23.805]their cultural backgrounds, their work backgrounds
[00:02:27.315]and it makes the greatest learning experience
[00:02:30.464]for all of our students.
[00:02:31.705]And the students all do things together
[00:02:33.857]like at the Women's Conference
[00:02:35.256]and when they have dissertation proposals and defenses
[00:02:38.244]and so the students all know each other
[00:02:40.425]a little too well for my own good
[00:02:42.296]so they make my work wonderful.
