With a strong community host team, serviceship interns Emily and Shelby worked with York County Economic Development, York Chamber of Commerce, City of York, Nebraska Extension and other community stakeholders to craft a plan to increase awareness and propel LB840 forward. Their work resulted in an ongoing resource database for communities pursuing LB840 in the future.

[00:00:06.374]And now I realize how important of a piece that is.
[00:00:12.006]So we have six projects,
[00:00:13.637]and the one with the highest priority right now is LB840.
[00:00:19.382]LB840 is important to communities in Nebraska
[00:00:22.510]because it is the community coming out
[00:00:25.259]and saying that they value economic development
[00:00:28.160]in their area.
[00:00:31.129]And so we reached out to the economic developers
[00:00:33.636]in all 69 cities and villages throughout Nebraska
[00:00:37.243]that currently have LB840.
[00:00:41.730]We have gotten responses from 33 of the 69 communities
[00:00:46.630]in Nebraska with LB840,
[00:00:48.490]and they're looking to transition that database
[00:00:51.268]to a new management.
[00:00:53.253]So that communities like York
[00:00:56.120]that want to implement something like this in the future
[00:00:59.135]will have a resource to look to.
[00:01:02.509]They have dug into the data,
[00:01:04.268]they've created a survey that we've been using
[00:01:07.751]in the community to identify what priorities and needs are.
[00:01:13.386]So they have just really helped kind of, bring it together.
[00:01:16.741]Comparing us to other communities, and who's doing what,
[00:01:19.747]and what's worked well, and what hasn't worked well.
