[00:00:18.948]you'll see a lot of displays like we just passed
[00:00:21.979]and like this.
[00:00:23.448]The concept is to tell our story
[00:00:26.636]without having to have someone there tell it,
[00:00:29.409]so you could walk through this building
[00:00:31.150]and learn a lot about our college
[00:00:32.722]without even a guided tour.
[00:00:35.626]So this one is to highlight successful alums.
[00:00:38.955]This display highlights some of our top faculty
[00:00:42.414]in research and teaching.
[00:00:44.489]Over here is our Nebraska business hall of fame.

[00:00:54.918]The concept was, we've got all this new technology
[00:00:57.614]and new ways to teach, and we've got a lot of faculty
[00:01:01.583]who have never been taught how to teach with this,
[00:01:04.077]so we hired an expert in the field.
[00:01:07.386]So we're now in the large auditorium
[00:01:09.836]and when it opens it will be the largest
[00:01:12.647]teaching auditorium on the entire campus.
[00:01:16.351]By every classroom we have breakout rooms.
[00:01:19.787]The concept is, the professor can give group work
[00:01:23.562]and say, okay, go break into your groups
[00:01:25.931]and they come out to these rooms and meet.
[00:01:29.545]This is our most tech-heavy class in the whole building.
[00:01:34.948]This is what we call a case-style classroom,
[00:01:38.117]and the concept here is, you know,
[00:01:39.776]you can fit 80 people in a classroom,
[00:01:42.410]but still have good interaction across the class.
[00:01:46.753]The two classrooms on this end are for our
[00:01:50.364]executive education and graduate programs.
[00:01:53.506]One thing the architects asked is, you know,
[00:01:55.786]tell us about Nebraska, about the University,
[00:01:59.454]and we said, well football is big and tailgating is huge,
[00:02:04.874]so they affectionately called this
[00:02:06.432]the dean's tailgate terrace.
[00:02:09.337]When Donde Plowman, the dean at the time
[00:02:12.361]and the foundation folks
[00:02:13.567]went to visit corporations and CEO's
[00:02:16.435]to try and raise money for this building,
[00:02:18.866]they all had a room like this,
[00:02:21.311]they didn't meet in their office,
[00:02:23.358]they came out to this more comfortable room
[00:02:26.175]and we said we need a room like that.
[00:02:29.003]Actually the Dean's office here is smaller
[00:02:32.240]than her office in our old building.
[00:02:36.188]So this is the atrium.
[00:02:38.142]Day to day, there'll be soft seating and tables in here,
[00:02:41.433]just gathering space for students,
[00:02:43.920]but we can move all that furniture out
[00:02:46.782]and put in round tables and have a dinner for 300 in here.
[00:02:51.718]This building is 100% donor funded,
[00:02:55.148]and so we want this to be a community resource,
[00:02:58.597]so we'd invite the companies who work with us,
[00:03:01.589]and donors to come and use our space, share it with us.
