Description

With a strong community host team, serviceship interns Emily and Shelby worked with York County Economic Development, York Chamber of Commerce, City of York, Nebraska Extension and other community stakeholders to craft a plan to increase awareness and propel LB840 forward. Their work resulted in an ongoing resource database for communities pursuing LB840 in the future.

[00:00:36.673]at their mid-year conference.

[00:00:42.097]that it just gave us extra hands.
[00:00:49.773]So in order to grow, we have to create additional tools,
[00:00:54.364]additional resources.
[00:00:56.168]And without our interns, it would have taken us much longer
[00:00:59.563]to reach our goals.
[00:01:03.370]They kinda understand what a small community is all about,
[00:01:06.467]or they wouldn't be part of this program in the first place.
[00:01:09.476]And I think they've been well received,
[00:01:13.392]enthusiastic, and they get things done.
[00:01:20.938]All communities should take advantage of the opportunity.
[00:01:24.130]I think it is important as communities and business leaders
[00:01:29.295]that we work with these young men and women
[00:01:32.558]who will eventually be our leaders and our bosses
[00:01:36.627]because if we don't mentor them and help shape them,
[00:01:41.081]they'll go elsewhere.
[00:01:43.526]And this is so important to try to retain within our state
[00:01:48.934]as many quality businessmen and women,
[00:01:52.032]as well as citizens, to better grow our communities.
[00:01:55.367]And that's been a great program.

[00:02:06.300]That really prepared these interns, and I'm sure
[00:02:08.897]interns in other communities were just as prepared.
