[00:00:07.224]to me was, there's a couple rough spots

[00:00:15.316]previously in Blackboard, how are you going to

[00:00:18.038]For example, in Blackboard, I would send emails

[00:00:22.565]In Canvas, the workflow is different.
[00:00:24.669]It says post an announcement, and the students
[00:00:27.270]choose how they receive that information
[00:00:29.660]in their notifications.
[00:00:32.222]And that's actually a benefit, cause the students
[00:00:33.581]can customize it, they can get it texted to them,
[00:00:35.867]they can get it emailed to them,
[00:00:36.991]whatever works for them, and they can subdivide
[00:00:38.809]how they want to get that information.
[00:00:41.167]Once you realize that, you realize,
[00:00:42.396]okay, when I want to communicate with students,
[00:00:43.921]I send an announcement.
[00:00:45.136]There's that transition of translating
[00:00:46.493]how you did something before to how you do it now.
[00:00:49.254]Adding stuff, you don't just add a column
[00:00:50.869]into your grade book, you have to add an assigment,
[00:00:53.010]which means you're putting due dates around that assignment,
[00:00:54.993]you're giving more information to the students
[00:00:56.853]structuring it for the Canvas system.
[00:00:59.170]Once you figure that out, it's fine,
[00:01:00.663]but there are a couple of those spots
[00:01:02.258]where you have to say, wait, how do I do this?
[00:01:04.536]And then you figure out how to do it in the new system.
