- [00:00:02.690]So one of the features that I like to use,
- [00:00:06.021]in two different ways is the video function.
- [00:00:12.278]The first way, is if I'm going to provide
- [00:00:15.040]video feedback for a student.
- [00:00:18.069]I can click on an assignment that needs to be graded
- [00:00:22.586]and right here along the left-hand side, you will see
- [00:00:26.829]the student assignment, which has been submitted
- [00:00:29.691]and then along the right-hand side, you'll see
- [00:00:32.976]a comment from the student if they've left you one.
- [00:00:35.806]Once you've read the paper and made your comments,
- [00:00:39.006]you can use the inline grading functions
- [00:00:41.557]to do different things if you need to.
- [00:00:45.846]After you've completed all that,
- [00:00:47.568]instead of actually physically going through
- [00:00:49.128]and typing up your comment, you can instead click
- [00:00:53.228]on the film strip with the microphone.
- [00:00:57.877]Once you click the film strip and this window opens up,
- [00:01:01.755]one way that you could record your video feedback
- [00:01:04.025]is just click record media, start the recording,
- [00:01:08.477]and then you'll provide your feedback to your student.
- [00:01:10.877]So, it would just say something,
- [00:01:13.334]whatever your comments may be, good work Sonia,
- [00:01:15.434]I appreciate the detail that
- [00:01:16.538]you provided in your assignment.
- [00:01:18.887]Good use of transitions between your paragraphs.
- [00:01:22.349]Once you're finished with your video feedback,
- [00:01:24.317]as the instructions say right here,
- [00:01:26.178]click anywhere to stop recording.
- [00:01:28.780]You'll stop and then click save.
- [00:01:35.188]We'll save and that is saving the recording
- [00:01:37.068]and then your media will be uploaded,
- [00:01:38.629]right here on the right-hand side,
- [00:01:40.519]underneath where your comments would typically be written.
- [00:01:43.341]Then once a student goes into the assignment,
- [00:01:45.149]they're able to click on the video footage,
- [00:01:47.210]click play, and then view your video feedback.
- [00:01:51.101]Now another way that you could also use this function
- [00:01:54.376]is by clicking the film strip
- [00:01:57.904]and instead of recording media,
- [00:02:00.619]if you have already recorded a video using your laptop
- [00:02:04.719]or whatever your device might be,
- [00:02:06.328]and then you can go to upload media, find your file,
- [00:02:10.100]select it, and then upload it that way.
- [00:02:13.130]So there's two different ways that you can actually
- [00:02:14.490]upload your media to your video feedback.
- [00:02:19.481]Then once you have done that, click submit,
- [00:02:21.466]and it'll be posted there.
- [00:02:23.078]Students really love this option
- [00:02:24.458]of having the video feedback,
- [00:02:26.439]just because they're getting an opportunity to have
- [00:02:29.658]that face to face interaction with you, virtually.
- [00:02:33.791]Then also, just having a connection with you,
- [00:02:36.548]as the instructor, and getting an understanding
- [00:02:39.079]of what it is that you're trying to,
- [00:02:42.306]get the point that you're trying to get across to them
- [00:02:44.135]regarding their assignment, any information
- [00:02:46.495]that they might need to revise their assignments,
- [00:02:50.295]or just getting a better tone from the information
- [00:02:52.686]that you're trying to get across to them.
