- [00:00:03.648]Tonight we are imagining what the Woods Telephone Museum
- [00:00:07.407]can be in the future, and a class from
- [00:00:10.407]the UNL College of Architecture is helping us
- [00:00:12.698]do that through their design concepts.
- [00:00:15.839]As you know, the museum needs to find a new location,
- [00:00:19.370]and that's why we are here this evening,
- [00:00:22.119]to imagine what that new museum might look like.
- [00:00:26.499]So I want to increase the pedestrian area
- [00:00:29.860]and make it walkable, more accessible.
- [00:00:32.518]We are here to display our final projects
- [00:00:34.641]for our redesign of a local museum, the Telephone Museum.
- [00:00:38.495]So this was one of the first project that
- [00:00:40.257]we actually had a real client.
- [00:00:41.935]It was great having, throwing ideas at them,
- [00:00:43.882]and then having their input on each decision along the way.
- [00:00:48.863]I have been working with the students and coming
- [00:00:50.663]to their classes, so I've seen the concepts evolve.
- [00:00:53.951]So yeah, the one on the right would be a possibility.
- [00:00:56.834]And I'm very impressed with their creativity
- [00:00:59.931]and their vision, and they bring
- [00:01:01.493]a fresh perspective that we really need.
- [00:01:03.914]I thought it was really good, one because
- [00:01:05.994]we had actual clients to talk to.
- [00:01:09.343]We got to go in and see the museum and kind of
- [00:01:12.338]that it was a problem that they were losing
- [00:01:14.083]their building, and actually get to visit
- [00:01:16.121]the site whenever we want, so it seems
- [00:01:17.991]a lot more real than any other project we've ever done.
- [00:01:20.730]You shine right here, you shine.
- [00:01:22.841]It's a win-win situation.
- [00:01:24.732]We get some fresh ideas and some publicity.
- [00:01:28.191]The students get to work with a real local issue,
- [00:01:32.801]a real client, and in my talking with them,
- [00:01:36.172]they've learned a lot this semester.
