- [00:00:02.649]Move forward.
- [00:00:03.757]Let's see if you can't grab that one.
- [00:00:06.626]The facilities that UNL provides are
- [00:00:08.422]cutting-edge digital labs with
- [00:00:10.316]the best technology currently available.
- [00:00:13.106]And we're using new technology such as
- [00:00:15.290]the Oculus Rift and Elite Motion.
- [00:00:16.993]We have access to ArcGIS and ArcMap.
- [00:00:20.786]Programs including CityEngine.
- [00:00:23.207]We're doing some of the most accurate
- [00:00:25.628]and large-scale reconstructions
- [00:00:27.101]that I can think of and that I've see available.
- [00:00:30.413]It's one thing that is currently a very hot ticket item
- [00:00:34.718]in anthropology and archeology because
- [00:00:36.795]it's digital preservation of sites.
- [00:00:39.546]It allows us to get archaeological data
- [00:00:41.704]and meta data out to the public.
- [00:00:44.010]We can share our interpretations
- [00:00:45.676]of archaeological data amongst archeologists.
- [00:00:48.388]You can see up there is temple 18.
- [00:00:50.417]My thesis is on SWARsing studies
- [00:00:53.100]using x-ray diffraction on ceramics here in Nebraska
- [00:00:56.979]on the central plains tradition.
- [00:00:59.412]And then my second focus of study is
- [00:01:01.131]3D reconstructions of landscape and cityscapes.
- [00:01:06.424]They provide lots of opportunities
- [00:01:08.296]for graduate students to get in on research
- [00:01:10.834]and they push you forward towards a goal
- [00:01:13.306]of reaching whatever your next stage is.
