University of Nebraska Chancellor Ronnie Green talks about NU's core values, including beliefs on diversity and inclusion. He speaks to about 5,000 new freshmen at New Student Convocation, August 19, 2016.

[00:00:11.361]You got a bracelet I know when you came in today,
[00:00:15.008]that says, "The Nebraska way."
[00:00:17.866]And it has underneath it, the words
[00:00:20.235]dignity, respect and acceptance.
[00:00:24.360]The core believe in diversity and inclusion,
[00:00:28.113]and we expect that we're a place
[00:00:31.591]where we ask that all members
[00:00:34.159]of out university community be especially mindful
[00:00:37.625]of our responsibility to create
[00:00:40.588]an environment that is welcoming to all.
[00:00:44.341]Where each person here feels accepted, valued and safe,
[00:00:49.608]and I want to read to you what that means.
[00:00:52.132]Our core beliefs that our faculty and our staff
[00:00:54.969]and our community believe in.
[00:00:57.742]We value equity, inclusion and dignity for all.

[00:01:05.960]that our differences in fact make us stronger.

[00:02:01.563]your colleagues as graduate students here on our campus,

[00:02:08.541]and lastly we take action when we observe something,
[00:02:12.476]someone or something being treated unfairly
[00:02:16.297]or in a demeaning manner.
