- [00:00:07.357]in the PK-12 administrative department or program, it is.
- [00:00:12.680]I get to work with people who are starting to study
- [00:00:17.017]to become principals and superintendents
- [00:00:19.573]so I work with people in the MED program
- [00:00:21.697]and the EDD program and have a blast doing so.
- [00:00:26.701]First I wanna start by thanking you for selecting
- [00:00:29.776]the University of Nebraska because I know
- [00:00:32.410]that you have a lot of choices especially
- [00:00:34.157]in the Ed Administration field but I know
- [00:00:37.837]that you've made the right choice
- [00:00:39.421]and I want you to know that we're committed
- [00:00:40.797]to making your experience here a good one.
- [00:00:43.296]I got to work before I came to the University of Nebraska
- [00:00:46.339]in Public Ed in various roles from teaching
- [00:00:50.680]to district administration
- [00:00:52.199]and I can tell you you are in a profession that you'll love
- [00:00:57.337]for the rest of your life
- [00:00:58.596]and you'll have an opportunity to make an impact
- [00:01:00.654]that you won't even believe as you go along.
- [00:01:04.219]My thirty seconds of advice to you is to be your best,
- [00:01:06.498]to do your very best in this program
- [00:01:10.091]as well as in other programs that you might pursue.
- [00:01:13.035]In education I know that you've worked hard
- [00:01:15.431]to build your resume.
- [00:01:17.294]I know that you work hard right now
- [00:01:19.133]to be the best educator that you can be
- [00:01:21.499]and I would challenge you in this program
- [00:01:23.915]to be the very best student that you can be.
- [00:01:27.273]There are lots of opportunities for you to get by
- [00:01:30.698]but I'll tell you that's a waste of your time and your money
- [00:01:33.694]and actually it's a waste of your classmates' time
- [00:01:37.772]and your professors' time as well.
- [00:01:40.055]So, do things that you already know how to do.
- [00:01:42.975]Look at your work and make sure
- [00:01:46.012]that you understand everything before you start.
- [00:01:48.736]Be that student in class that everybody wants to work with
- [00:01:52.151]because you're so diligent about your assignments
- [00:01:54.914]and the work that you do.

- [00:02:06.096]and I know that that can be challenging when you're online

- [00:02:18.035]because your professors wouldn't take the time to do that
