- [00:00:12.539]to help you to become a successful online learner.
- [00:00:16.477]Tip number one.
- [00:00:17.665]Decide if online learning is best for you.
- [00:00:20.182]Make sure you know and understand
- [00:00:21.499]what online learning is all about.
- [00:00:23.864]Are you comfortable with independent learning?
- [00:00:26.046]How are you at managing your time?
- [00:00:27.789]And do you have access to the required
- [00:00:29.277]technical requirements in order to take an online course?
- [00:00:32.657]Remember, online learning requires
- [00:00:34.262]high autonomy and high accountability.
- [00:00:38.276]Tip number two.
- [00:00:39.316]Read your syllabus thoroughly
- [00:00:41.015]and take time to peruse the online course itself.
- [00:00:44.316]By doing this you will be able to have access
- [00:00:46.564]to the expectations and the requirements of the course,
- [00:00:49.835]as well as be able to see what's all available
- [00:00:52.932]as far as the assignment, any type of resources
- [00:00:55.273]and other pertinent information.

- [00:00:58.508]Participate.
- [00:00:59.499]This is very important to a quality online experience.
- [00:01:02.647]And it's not just for you,
- [00:01:03.603]but it's for everyone who is involved in the course.
- [00:01:06.566]More than likely you will be involved
- [00:01:07.889]with online discussions, collaborations and/or projects.
- [00:01:13.319]Tip number four.
- [00:01:14.563]Budget your time, set schedules and complete work on time.
- [00:01:18.722]I would recommended just blocking off or set a time
- [00:01:20.623]everyday that you are to work on your online courses
- [00:01:23.251]and then stick to that schedule.

- [00:01:27.263]Log onto your courses and your email regularly.
- [00:01:30.534]Your instructor will be posting announcements
- [00:01:33.016]via the online course as well as
- [00:01:34.888]communicating with you via email.
- [00:01:36.836]And it's important that you check these things regularly
- [00:01:39.146]so that you don't miss any critical information,
- [00:01:41.356]any updates or any questions that your instructor may have
- [00:01:43.212]regarding your assignments that you have uploaded.

- [00:01:47.888]Be polite and respectful, this is also known as netiquette.
- [00:01:51.032]This is essential for a productive
- [00:01:52.602]and supportive online environment.
- [00:01:54.468]And remember you may not share the same values,
- [00:01:56.215]opinions or morals as some of your classmates,
- [00:01:58.913]but it's important that you
- [00:01:59.868]recognize these differences respectfully,
- [00:02:02.515]so that everyone feels safe in sharing their thoughts.

- [00:02:07.274]Speak up.
