[00:00:06.349]the summer of 2014.
[00:00:09.165]I serve as an intern for a judge in Omaha, Nebraska,
[00:00:12.409]at the Federal District Court there.
[00:00:14.467]I got to learn from the judge, herself,
[00:00:16.013]as well as her two clerks,
[00:00:18.147]which was just invaluable experience.
[00:00:20.842]My experience working in the
[00:00:22.775]Entrepreneurship Clinic,
[00:00:24.442]we call it the E Clinic,
[00:00:25.275]sometimes was fabulous.
[00:00:26.545]I learned a lot.
[00:00:27.519]I had real clients.
[00:00:29.260]The fun part about clinic is that in the classroom,
[00:00:31.896]your problems come to you with nice little labels,
[00:00:34.957]like tortes or contracts.
[00:00:36.365]In the clinic, it's all one big box
[00:00:39.902]that you get to pick through and sort out
[00:00:42.360]and help people.
[00:00:43.437]My experience here at the University of Nebraska
[00:00:45.532]has really prepared me for what's coming next.
[00:00:48.109]The university has focused on
[00:00:50.275]beefing up its international curriculum,
[00:00:52.835]it's brought in amazing professors,
[00:00:54.765]and provides resources and other students
[00:00:57.101]that are on the way to the same kinds
[00:00:59.283]of goals that I'm working towards.
[00:01:00.781]What I'll miss the most about Nebraska Law
[00:01:03.117]is spending my day talking with my classmates
[00:01:06.605]about these really interesting concepts we're learning.
[00:01:09.603]We pick them apart, we put them back together,
[00:01:11.736]we try to stretch them to fit new scenarios.
[00:01:14.221]And I know you do that somewhat in practice,
[00:01:16.685]but here we have the luxury of spending all
[00:01:18.680]day doing that without a ticking clock.
[00:01:20.891]The thing about going to law school,
[00:01:22.403]or finishing law school,
[00:01:23.858]is that when you're done,
[00:01:24.824]it's kind of like seeing in color for the first time.
[00:01:27.213]You have this education that then lets you
[00:01:29.229]understand how everything kinda works in the world
[00:01:32.048]in ways you didn't know before going to law school.
