[00:00:42.275]The Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic matches
[00:00:44.700]aspiring business owners with third-year law students.
[00:00:48.032]Students provide legal services to handle the sometimes
[00:00:51.655]complex issues related to starting a business.
[00:00:55.651]They work with real clients, get a chance to engage
[00:00:58.632]in complicated legal issues for real people.
[00:01:02.179]Over the course of a semester,
[00:01:03.724]students gain practical experience.
[00:01:06.469]Here we actually get to see what it's like
[00:01:08.307]to be a lawyer, and how to put everything
[00:01:10.735]in the classroom to work.

[00:01:18.379]So that, when I do graduate and start working
[00:01:20.084]with real clients, I'm more prepared
[00:01:23.228]and kind of a step ahead of where I would be otherwise.
[00:01:26.186]The Clinic also includes a class for students
[00:01:28.824]who are part of the program.
[00:01:30.453]We do meet weekly and we talk about things
[00:01:32.420]that they're learning from their clients,
[00:01:34.179]issues they're facing.
[00:01:35.592]Also on the front end, since we do hit the ground
[00:01:37.803]running very fast.
[00:01:39.167]During the first two weeks we do a very intensive
[00:01:41.773]boot camp training.
[00:01:43.185]Ground level lessons that they really haven't had
[00:01:44.671]a chance to learn yet.
[00:01:46.011]Since the Clinic opened in 2013,
[00:01:48.217]about 60 students have participated in the program,
[00:01:51.338]serving nearly 100 clients.
[00:01:55.033]For Gus Gahlen and Groove Watersports, it's a way
[00:01:58.213]to make a smooth splash into the business world.
