Makers from the Nebraska Innovation Studio created a mechanical ribbon cutting for the grand opening of Nebraska Innovation Campus, October 8, 2015.

[00:00:12.228]We didn't want just a typical, you know, cutting.

[00:00:17.246]And we had many conceptual meetings.
[00:00:20.066]A number of people submitted ideas.
[00:00:22.266]The one that I came up with was based on the logo
[00:00:26.154]for Innovation Campus.
[00:00:28.175]This right here, is basically the drive system
[00:00:31.773]for this whole sculpture.
[00:00:34.343]I'm one of the artists working on
[00:00:36.031]the giant logo for the ribbon-cutting machine.
[00:00:40.091]It's fun to kinda play with these design concepts
[00:00:42.271]and find what you think works best.

[00:00:51.951]the entire University from East Campus to City Campus

[00:01:08.291]I was just here last week laser cutting out
[00:01:10.291]a bunch of things, I mean, nobody has a laser cutter.
[00:01:12.371]It has been an invaluable tool for me.
[00:01:14.951]For instance, the vinyl I'm using for this project
[00:01:17.471]was cut in this space.
[00:01:19.191]This is a good test for my own work.
