[00:00:09.995]employing LED greenhouse lights.
[00:00:13.595]And the light spectrum is actually tuned in

[00:00:18.755]The Greenhouse Innovation Center
[00:00:20.195]was built around a unique piece of equipment.
[00:00:22.875]This system was envisioned by a group of faculty.
[00:00:26.395]This system has plants on conveyors
[00:00:29.755]moved around the greenhouse to nutrient and water stations.
[00:00:33.835]And then, at specific times they move out of the greenhouse,
[00:00:38.155]into the attached head house
[00:00:39.915]and through high-resolution camera bays.

[00:00:43.855]that are barely noticeable with naked eye.
[00:00:47.175]There's only a few facilities like this in the world,
[00:00:49.055]and UNL is one of the first universities
[00:00:51.275]in the United States to have a facility like this.
[00:00:53.875]For someone like me, and researchers who are
[00:00:56.235]interested in how plants respond to their environment,
[00:00:59.435]or how their development gets affected,
[00:01:02.335]a system like this really accelerates our research,
[00:01:05.663]so we can do a lot more very, very quickly,
[00:01:08.623]and more precisely than we could without such a system.
