[00:00:10.928]so agronomy has always been
[00:00:12.030]an important part of my life.

[00:00:14.967]of California, Riverside.
[00:00:17.736]My undergraduate degree
[00:00:18.936]was in environmental toxicology,
[00:00:20.571]and this is also important
[00:00:22.073]to Doctor of Plant Health to me
[00:00:23.107]because it's important to me
[00:00:26.112]to find the balance between
[00:00:27.746]producing food,
[00:00:29.915]and the right amount of food,
[00:00:31.818]and responsibly taking care
[00:00:33.351]of the environment in doing so.
[00:00:34.887]I feel that my training
[00:00:36.521]as an environmental toxicologist
[00:00:37.989]has really paid off
[00:00:39.457]in the Doctor of Plant Health.
[00:00:41.727]I chose the Doctor of Plant Health
[00:00:42.995]because I believe in its philosophy.
[00:00:45.197]I believe that a lot of the issues
[00:00:47.031]that we're facing today
[00:00:47.967]in agronomy could be
[00:00:50.261]solved with interdisciplinary solutions,
[00:00:52.905]and I think that this
[00:00:53.906]interdisciplinary degree will
[00:00:55.206]prepare me exactly for that.

[00:00:58.777]the Doctor of Plant Health degree
[00:00:59.912]I plan to return to California
[00:01:03.613]and consult in the Imperial Valley,
[00:01:04.849]where I'm from.
[00:01:06.218]I'd like to be involved in all
[00:01:07.353]the fruit and vegetable production
[00:01:08.653]where I'm from,
[00:01:09.821]so that's what I plan to do.
