In the annual "Culture Shock" celebration of cultural food, facts and fun, University Housing spotlights the many countries represented in the UNL student body.

- [00:00:10.688]Basically it's kind of like a globals fair where you can

- [00:00:15.504]Learn about their food.
- [00:00:17.280]Learn about their costumes.
- [00:00:18.441]Learn about their cultural entertainment.
- [00:00:20.841]Learn about fun facts and games that they play when their kids and things like that.
- [00:00:26.009]It's like a bazillion countries that are represented by different
- [00:00:29.656]international students that live at UNL and you get to learn
- [00:00:33.241]about their countries and you get to eat food and it's awesome.

- [00:00:39.842]It's a great opportunity for us to explain and tell our
- [00:00:44.161]stories and share our cultures a little bit.
- [00:00:46.921]Iraq has a lot of middle eastern people, mostly Arabic speaking people.
- [00:00:50.281]Everything just starts with 'hello, how are you?"
- [00:00:52.681]So this a space, an environment to create that 'hello, how are you?"

- [00:01:06.017]international countries and we need all the domestic here
- [00:01:09.089]to know what is the international countries and what's happening
- [00:01:12.817]in their countries and what's their food and what is the game,
- [00:01:15.057]what is their culture, what is their language.
- [00:01:17.281]It will really help the international students feel accepted on campus.
- [00:01:21.281]Egypt is a very lovely country.
- [00:01:24.241]It's food is very delicious as you see.
- [00:01:29.041]You don't realize how many different cultures are in Lincoln, Nebraska.
- [00:01:32.609]So I just think it's awesome, I've never got to see anything like this.
- [00:01:36.504]We're definitely privileged to be able to put on an event like this.
- [00:01:39.961]I enjoy this because it's part of me representing my country.
- [00:01:43.529]And it's kind of like recognizing people who are not from
- [00:01:47.009]American who are on campus and recognizing that they're here.
- [00:01:51.505]And come down, over to the right side.
- [00:01:55.544]We are really exciting to be at UNL and
- [00:01:57.273]enjoying it as much as we can.
- [00:02:00.698]They feel part of campus, they feel recognized as Huskers.
- [00:02:04.273]Not just international students, but Huskers.
