- [00:00:00.000]Or down [speaks solfege of a scale]
- [00:00:02.127]or whatever you want to do..
- [00:00:03.663]you can do a mixture, you can
- [00:00:05.047]also have it do random.
- [00:00:06.153](VO) my name is Libby Gentry, I'm a
- [00:00:07.870]computer science major, and a freshman
- [00:00:09.687]here at UNL.
- [00:00:11.022]I came in really at the suggestion
- [00:00:13.131]of the upper class-men of my program
- [00:00:14.906]expecting music to be a good focus
- [00:00:18.106]and seeing what I could do with
- [00:00:19.920]technology in that.
- [00:00:20.939]Just seeing what I could do for my,
- [00:00:22.612]future as well.
- [00:00:23.833]I really like the aspect of having a,
- [00:00:25.662]creative outlet within my semester
- [00:00:27.691]courses, themselves, and
- [00:00:29.513]It's been really great for that.
- [00:00:31.048][sounds of arpeggiated chords]
- [00:00:39.077](voice of Dr. Moore) "not bad ok, now"
- [00:00:41.128](VO) Dr. Moore is really interesting
- [00:00:42.941]in that, he also works on some of the IT
- [00:00:45.432]sides of things, and it's cool seeing that
- [00:00:47.453]tie between music and technology, even
- [00:00:49.223]on the professor stance, it's not just
- [00:00:51.196]teaching from a music side, and
- [00:00:52.977]expecting us to implement with technology,
- [00:00:55.186]he knows both sides of it.
- [00:00:56.497][sounds of chords via iPad]
- [00:00:58.241]With this course, you get an iPad for
- [00:01:00.081]the semester, which is one of the
- [00:01:01.712]most fantastic things,
- [00:01:02.843]I've been able to use it for group
- [00:01:04.468]projects across the board.
- [00:01:05.908]But, getting to work with Garageband
- [00:01:07.722]and really going down to the even the
- [00:01:09.561]note level, of being able to manipulate
- [00:01:11.444]songs has been, an excellent process,
- [00:01:13.339]seeing what you can do with music itself.
- [00:01:15.515]It's been fun.
- [00:01:18.075]I would recommend this class to
- [00:01:20.145]future students, definitely.
- [00:01:21.819]If you want to have that influence of,
- [00:01:25.115]how music can, have a good impact
- [00:01:28.315]on your future.
- [00:01:29.616][music]
