[00:00:07.040]I chose Child, Youth and Family Studies because of the things that people did for

[00:00:12.997]Boys Town blessed me to be around so many different people and deal with so many
[00:00:17.027]different scenarios.
[00:00:18.187]I just want to share my knowledge and help mold a kid at a time.
[00:00:23.518]I'm a sprinter. That means I run short distances in fast times, fast times hopefully.
[00:00:28.757]When you put your fingers on that line and the crowd just gets quiet, it's just
[00:00:33.198]like, "Man, this is it."
[00:00:34.567]You just remember all the hard work you put and you just tell yourself, "Man, I did not
[00:00:38.947]die several deaths this week on the track to look silly."
[00:00:44.997]I love adversity. I was just raised to believe that God doesn't give you things
[00:00:49.077]that you can't bear.
[00:00:50.367]And if you're given adversity, it's kind of like a test and you're deemed worthy,
[00:00:53.937]you know? I love it.
[00:00:55.217]Every day I wake up to a new challenge.
[00:00:58.737]Here at UNL the advisers are awesome. They help me to find myself and find what I
[00:01:03.767]wanted to do in my life. More than making money, I just want to dedicate myself to
[00:01:08.577]one place and one student body. I want to be old and gray, coaching and working
[00:01:13.727]at a school.
[00:01:15.277]Within my practicum, I work at Cullen Middle School. Me and kids just kind of
[00:01:20.367]gravitate towards each other; it's like magnetic.
[00:01:23.087]And I believe that there is no such thing as a bad child just because I thought I
[00:01:26.768]was a bad child and now I'm about to graduate.
[00:01:29.227]If I can make it, I feel like anybody can make it and I just want to help be a part
[00:01:33.576]of that process.
[00:01:35.007]A couple years ago, I didn't think I was going to be a senior at any level, and now
[00:01:39.817]I'm about to make that walk.
[00:01:42.047]Me getting this degree is not really me, it's my family. It's for them, so they can
[00:01:47.417]use it to know that anything is possible.
