[00:00:59.112]I learned a great deal from the advocacy

[00:01:04.022]assignment. The videos, The Science of
[00:01:08.081]Persuasion in particular, were great fine.

[00:01:34.422]by the Global Consortium for International
[00:01:36.902]Family Studies not only because of the
[00:01:39.381]feasibility of pursuing an online course,
[00:01:41.702]along with my professional goals, but also
[00:01:44.521]because of the credibility of the involved
[00:01:47.501]institutions offering this course.
[00:01:52.030]It is totally a structured program with
[00:01:54.860]highly interactive and engaging platforms.
[00:02:00.310]All our course supervisors across institutions
[00:02:03.540]are not only deeply involved with the
[00:02:06.420]teaching modules, but are always available
[00:02:08.920]to answer any queries along with individual
[00:02:11.940]detailed feedback of your assignments.

[00:02:22.059]The diversity in the course is the key of
[00:02:24.640]its success. Starting from the modules,
[00:02:27.360]covered in the course, to the involvement
[00:02:29.940]of the students from different parts of the
[00:02:32.700]globe. I feel extremely proud to be
[00:02:37.760]associated with this great course as a first
[00:02:40.100]batch, and also feel blessed for being
[00:02:43.280]chosen for this great opportunity.

[00:02:51.560]I think my favorite part about this course
[00:02:53.380]International Perspectives on Family Policy
[00:02:56.440]was that it made us blend politics into
[00:02:58.580]family. I'm not a politician or guru, but I
[00:03:01.980]do enjoy talking about issues in a political
[00:03:04.820]light. I also love the advocacy section
[00:03:08.460]and hearing how everyone is an advocate
[00:03:10.460]in their own way.
[00:03:14.870]I feel like I learned so much about what
[00:03:16.440]family policy means and how I can
[00:03:18.000]incorporate that into my future career.
[00:03:21.950]I liked it so much that I decided to
[00:03:23.780]do a research project that looks at
[00:03:28.299]how family policy can improve the length of
[00:03:34.599]maternity leave. It's something that I
[00:03:36.960]didn't think that I would be interested in
[00:03:39.460]but after taking this course, I found out
[00:03:41.000]that I'm really interested in how policy
[00:03:43.800]can affect the family.
