The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has earned an $11.3 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to establish a research center focused on understanding nutrition and obesity at the molecular level.

[00:01:04.400]Earning a competitive grant is a recognition of UNL's expertise.
[00:01:09.464]We clearly demonstrated we are strong enough to claim a territorial niche that
[00:01:14.516]nobody else can fill. So I think they definitely recognize us as leaders
[00:01:19.650]in the area of nutrient signaling.
[00:01:22.320]The center includes a team of interdisciplinary faculty from UNL
[00:01:26.562]and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
[00:01:29.649]A new, centralized research facility will support research efforts.
[00:01:34.455]We really have to pull our best faculty from various departments to
[00:01:38.517]achieve our goals.
[00:01:40.195]Thanks to UNL research, discoveries in the lab may translate to a healthier America.
