- [00:00:34.568]or the CEHS Certification Officer.

- [00:00:43.610]as a candidate in the teacher education program,
- [00:00:46.313]you'll be responsible for disclosing

- [00:00:49.416]to the CEHS Director of Professional Experiences
- [00:00:52.219]or the CEHS Certification Officer.
- [00:00:54.688]Failure to disclose any new charges or convictions
- [00:00:57.457]will place you in violation of the Professional and Ethical
- [00:01:00.928]Behavior code of conduct and may lead to removal

- [00:01:14.207]to continue in your
- [00:01:15.175]teacher education program
- [00:01:16.710]but the video has some important
- [00:01:17.878]information that you
- [00:01:19.012]need to be aware of.
- [00:01:20.347]Please note that acceptance into the teacher education program
- [00:01:23.183]is based upon your maintaining professional
- [00:01:25.452]and ethical behavior
- [00:01:26.687]as described in the Undergraduate Bulletin
- [00:01:29.556]and on your academic record. Students must apply
- [00:01:32.559]for admission into any teacher education program
- [00:01:35.829]and acceptance is based on following the instructions
- [00:01:38.398]for admission and meeting the admission standards
- [00:01:41.101]found in the Undergraduate Bulletin.
- [00:01:43.303]If you are accepted into the teacher education program
- [00:01:45.672]and you receive no additional convictions,
- [00:01:47.874]then your criminal history will not prevent you from completing
- [00:01:50.577]our program or from receiving certification.
- [00:01:53.847]However there is no guarantee that school districts
- [00:01:56.249]will be willing to hire you. Typically school districts
- [00:01:59.019]have a higher standard that goes beyond
- [00:02:01.188]state certification requirements.
- [00:02:03.357]You need to be aware of this possibility.
- [00:02:05.959]Therefore, you may complete our program,
- [00:02:08.095]and you may get certified, but you might have difficulty
- [00:02:10.597]finding employment in the teaching field.
- [00:02:13.367]The vast majority of school districts
- [00:02:14.968]require full disclosure of criminal history
- [00:02:17.604]including all charges and convictions.
