[00:00:10.466]I'm Molly Polson, and I'm a Film and New Media major at the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film. And I am graduating in May, 2013.
[00:00:19.634]I toured a bunch of colleges, and when I came to UNL it just felt like home. It just felt the way it's supposed to.
[00:00:26.933]With "Digs," it just kind of really pushed me into editing, because it's like - I saw all the craziness that was going on,
[00:00:35.833]...and like - it worked out, obviously! Because "Digs" looks good; it'll be a good film.
[00:00:42.051]Yeah, but it was really cool working with all the professionals, and it was a really great opportunity for sure.
[00:00:47.901]Everyone else I know in this University, all my other friends who are outside of the program, they like - they're still writing papers for their classes and stuff.
[00:00:56.317]And it's like - I have a resume, and I have a reel, and I have things I can show people that I don't think anyone else I know has.
[00:01:05.301]And I'm so much more prepared because the school pushes you to do that.
[00:01:10.265]Your advisor tells you, "Oh hey, maybe you should be working on this. Maybe you should be applying to internships. Here are the internships you should apply to."
[00:01:17.384]I mean, they're constantly posting stuff. And your teachers give you feedback on your reels and your work, and they show you what you should be doing,
[00:01:26.699]...and maybe the things you should, like, learn from, and the opportunities you should take.
[00:01:31.821]I'm just so much farther than anyone else I know - in, like, getting prepared for the real world, because of - because of the school.
[00:01:39.703]It's just a great opportunity to get your work out there, and be like "Oh hey, I've been working on this, and maybe, like, this film is good enough for everyone else to want to see it too."
[00:01:49.467]And I never would have had that opportunity without this school.
