[00:00:01.073]My name is Alexander Jeffery. I graduated from the Johnny Carson in 2011.
[00:00:06.077]This is Katie Streeter and Christian Stokes. And we're here back on campus to talk to classes and to premiere our feature film "One Way."
[00:00:13.918]Katie: The Carson program does this really great thing where they bring in professionals from LA and from New York, and they do a film every couple years.
[00:00:20.957]And I worked on the first one that they did, which was called "Vipers in the Grass." And it was so, SO amazing - to be able to actually work on a set...
[00:00:28.512]... with industry professionals in college, and have that experience kinda underneath my belt and on my resume.
[00:00:35.190]When I moved out and actually tried to become a professional in the world, having that experience on a set is - I mean, you can't pay any money to get that.
[00:00:45.958]Alexander: I came to the International Thespian Festival with my high school, and I kind of fell in love with the campus.
[00:00:50.955]And like I said earlier, I kind of had the choice between Savannah or here, cuz' they were both going to let me double major in theatre and film.
[00:00:57.695]And there's something about Nebraska that's just - it's the college experience, and I really wanted that.
[00:01:03.301]And I needed 5 years to grow up, and to fail, and to make stuff, and have a group of peers, and kind of live in a nurturing environment.
[00:01:11.358]So I really, just kinda fell in love with the place.
[00:01:13.475]Christian: As far as theatre goes, I was able to be part of the Nebraska Repertory Theatre, which is part of the program.
[00:01:17.581]I got Equity points, which is the theatre union for actors. And, it's just a step towards professional work.
