- [00:00:18.379]Me being a public relations major I wanted to get the full spectrum of the integrated
- [00:00:22.827]marketing communications, so I wanted to get an insight into what advertising was and
- [00:00:28.053]how that could help me market myself as a young professional.
- [00:00:31.669]I remember back in high school I took my first marketing class and that's really
- [00:00:35.893]where, you know, my interest in brands and logos and campaigns and commercials really started.
- [00:00:39.168]I was under the impression that there was like a management team and a creative team
- [00:00:42.997]and that was it. I didn't realize there was so many other departments that work
- [00:00:46.836]together to create a final output.
- [00:00:49.642]My position while I'm working at Deutsch is a production intern mainly in print
- [00:00:54.569]production. I've worked on clients such as PNC Bank, Microsoft
- [00:00:58.025]Outback Steakhouse and Lunesta, the sleepy drug
- [00:01:02.878]Degree, [Bessel Butter]?
- [00:01:05.523]Snuggle, which is adorable.

- [00:01:10.494]Live Out Loud, MilkPEP, all sorts of different clients, just helping out with
- [00:01:14.088]the production process.
- [00:01:15.112]I did a lot of work with competitive updates for Milk, so I would research all
- [00:01:19.103]of our competitors and put together a deck which was sent out to clients biweekly.
- [00:01:22.634]I worked as an art director intern in creative. I worked on PNC. I worked a
- [00:01:30.068]little bit on Outback. I actually got to work on a business pitch.
- [00:01:33.460]And I was able to make presentations and posters and things like that, that were
- [00:01:37.176]actually used in meetings.
- [00:01:39.137]I got a lot of hands-on activities and I was actually, I felt like I was a part of
- [00:01:43.859]the team as opposed to just being an intern.
- [00:01:46.174]I think Deutsch does a good job of making sure that the interns are put to work in
- [00:01:51.358]creative and effective ways.
- [00:01:54.024]They really wanted you to help with the work and they brought you in on real
- [00:01:57.009]clients so it was awesome.
- [00:01:58.479]The intern program here I think is really great because they really nurtured the
- [00:02:02.265]interns, they really took care of the interns and all the interns have real
- [00:02:06.233]life projects, it's not just making coffee you're doing whatever you want to do
- [00:02:10.275]I really love working in a full service agency, being able to see all the
- [00:02:14.360]different aspects that go into advertising has really been interesting for me.
- [00:02:18.147]I love the culture. I love the people who work here. They are prideful in their work
- [00:02:23.256]They love what they do.
- [00:02:24.408]Deutsch is probably one of the best companies that doesn't feel like a company
- [00:02:29.570]to work for.
- [00:02:30.402]It's atmosphere is very different. Relaxed casual, open-minded, and I think that's
- [00:02:37.666]one thing that Deutsch has above others.
- [00:02:40.290]It's an awesome office to have in New York It has awesome views, generally the
- [00:02:43.777]atmosphere I think is a great learning experience.
- [00:02:45.868]I've been told loads of ad agencies are like this but I don't think they have the
- [00:02:50.113]scooters and the candy machines
- [00:02:51.301]I've learned to a lot. I've made a lot of great friends who I hope to keep in
- [00:02:54.644]touch with. It's a family here, it's not just business colleagues and peers.
- [00:02:57.919]Words can't describe how amazing it is, like it's definitely set me on the path
- [00:03:01.417]for my life, which is great. It's good to know, because I had no idea before.
