A student team from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln won $58,000 in prize money in a competition with other universities to develop stock trading applications. The students are part of the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management at UNL.

[00:00:41.094]The first thing that we built is a browser extension
[00:00:44.027]that provides additional data about stocks that are on
[00:00:47.067]the page you're reading while you're reading it.

[00:01:14.025]I was nervous, couldn't breathe, holding my breath.
[00:01:18.017]And when they said we won I just couldn't believe it.

[00:01:24.051]I think this is one of the most fun days we've had
[00:01:27.012]in Raikes School history.
[00:01:28.098]It was definitely an experiment and stretching the bounds
[00:01:33.052]of educational methodology.
[00:01:36.032]Chris: It's a lot harder to do things in the
[00:01:39.053]real world than you think they'll be.
[00:01:41.013]Learned a lot of lessons technically.
[00:01:42.086]And just had a good time doing it.
[00:01:45.067]A couple sleepless nights at the end, but we turned it in
[00:01:49.081]on time and looks like we did it.
