[00:00:19.000]Our focus now turns to
[00:00:20.280]welcoming back students, both
[00:00:22.200]new and returning, for the fall

[00:00:25.000]The energy and excitement they
[00:00:26.840]bring to campus are a powerful
[00:00:28.630]reminder of why we do this work
[00:00:30.390]and the importance of investing
[00:00:32.380]in the next generation of
[00:00:33.810]leaders, professionals, and
[00:00:35.770]changemakers.
[00:00:37.000]The Nebraska State Fair now is
[00:00:38.830]also underway and Husker Harvest
[00:00:40.930]Days is just around the corner.
[00:00:43.000]These hallmark events provide
[00:00:44.880]unique opportunities to connect
[00:00:46.930]with Nebraskans
[00:00:47.960]and highlight the partnerships
[00:00:49.710]and innovation that make our
[00:00:51.260]state a leader in agriculture,
[00:00:53.320]natural
[00:00:53.720]resources, and community vitality.
[00:00:56.100]This summer brought important
[00:00:57.920]recognition of our work. For
[00:00:59.800]example, the Nebraska Vet Diagnostic
[00:01:02.030]Center received the Governor's
[00:01:03.910]Excellence in Ag
[00:01:04.920]Partnership Award at the 2025
[00:01:07.250]Governor's Summit, underscoring
[00:01:09.360]its critical role in safeguarding
[00:01:11.480]animal health, and supporting
[00:01:13.330]Nebraska's livestock industry.
[00:01:15.410]We also welcome Secretary Rollins
[00:01:17.440]and
[00:01:17.640]the Deputy Secretary to NREC.
[00:01:19.820]This is information of Nebraska's
[00:01:22.200]national leadership in
[00:01:23.780]agriculture,
[00:01:24.920]natural resources, and
[00:01:26.480]innovation. In addition, UNL's
[00:01:28.850]Agriculture and Natural
[00:01:30.290]Resources programs
[00:01:31.640]rank in the top 10 percent of
[00:01:34.090]nearly 500 institutions
[00:01:36.590]worldwide in the new QS Worldwide
[00:01:39.160]university rankings. This
[00:01:40.980]milestone is a testament to the
[00:01:43.090]dedication, innovation, and
[00:01:45.110]collaboration
[00:01:45.960]of our talented faculty, staff,
[00:01:48.120]students, postdocs, and
[00:01:49.890]partners. INR thrives because
[00:01:51.980]of you, your commitment to
[00:01:53.530]advancing research and
[00:01:54.900]discovery, extension and
[00:01:56.540]engagement, and
[00:01:57.600]teaching and learning that
[00:01:59.490]matters. Every day across our
[00:02:01.720]state, INR is making a
[00:02:03.230]difference,
[00:02:04.320]such things as precision in
[00:02:05.990]digital ag, preserving natural
[00:02:08.250]resources for future
[00:02:09.340]generations, fueling
[00:02:10.880]the bioeconomy, linking food
[00:02:12.640]systems to health outcomes,
[00:02:14.350]fostering rural prosperity, and
[00:02:16.330]preparing
[00:02:17.100]the next generation of change
[00:02:18.680]makers. We are at the
[00:02:19.870]intersection of some of the
[00:02:21.320]world's most
[00:02:22.140]pressing challenges and most
[00:02:23.890]exciting opportunities, and I
[00:02:25.780]am proud to work alongside such
[00:02:27.600]an
[00:02:27.780]extraordinary community. We
[00:02:29.540]also know that challenges
[00:02:30.970]remain, and we are working
[00:02:32.490]through them
[00:02:33.260]collaboratively across UNL and
[00:02:35.560]the entire University of
[00:02:37.370]Nebraska system to
[00:02:38.780]ensure a strong and sustainable
[00:02:40.670]University for the future. I am
[00:02:42.710]confident
[00:02:43.280]that together we will meet
[00:02:44.820]these challenges with
[00:02:46.160]resiliency, creativity,
[00:02:47.900]and purpose. Thank you again
[00:02:50.180]for all that you do to make INR
[00:02:52.250]a place of impact and
[00:02:53.900]possibility. I'm excited for
[00:02:55.670]the semester ahead and for the
[00:02:57.330]opportunities we will
[00:02:58.640]shape together for Nebraska and
[00:03:02.250]the world.
