[00:00:17.784]And so there's fun aspect in that, you know, it's, it's not easy.

[00:00:22.038]But you can find enjoyment in it for sure.
[00:00:24.007]I know I did when I was working in it,
[00:00:25.692]and I know that a plenty of our students do I'm Cameron Pospisil.
[00:00:28.078]So I graduated from the UNL STS program in December of 2023.
[00:00:34.034]I did the two plus two program.
[00:00:35.518]started off here in Omaha at Metro, did that for two years
[00:00:39.205]and then transferred to UNL from there and did the second two years there.
[00:00:42.892]during the time with the Marine Corps,
[00:00:44.427]I spent a number of years in a teaching position where I taught
[00:00:47.464]marksmanship to to both young and older Marines.
[00:00:51.785]And so kind of being able to take teaching,
[00:00:55.138]which I found I really liked in the Marine Corps
[00:00:57.307]and then like the trades, I had a good friend of mine
[00:00:59.976]that did STS through UNL, and he was like, you should check this out.
[00:01:02.996]I mean, STS is a great, great place to be as a teacher.
[00:01:06.750]You know, I, being able to come and teach STS, it's like, all right.
[00:01:11.037]Yeah, we have
[00:01:13.440]we have some classroom work that we got to do.
[00:01:15.425]But you know,
[00:01:16.409]we're we're working hands on, you know, we're running around the shop where
[00:01:19.462]we're messing around with with tools.
[00:01:21.097]And we get to, you know, build stuff.
[00:01:23.166]It's not like we're staring at a book all day. So,
[00:01:26.486]you know, it's very, a very active, you know, every day is different.
[00:01:29.739]you have construction engineering and automotive.
[00:01:33.359]All those things and being able to work with all of those and maybe understand
[00:01:36.796]which ones you you thrive in, which ones you might struggle in.
[00:01:40.450]hands on activities, 90% of what we do in STS.
[00:01:43.586]It’s hard to teach woodworking or or welding
[00:01:46.556]or construction without the kids actually doing it and trying it out.
[00:01:49.876]you know, maybe we'll spend a day in the classroom talking about maybe,
[00:01:53.079]the theory or the safety or the or the how to, you know, really quick.
[00:01:56.950]And then it's like, all right, let's go, you know, let's go and try it.
[00:01:59.736]Let's go build something. Let's go weld something. Let's go.
[00:02:02.205]You know, design something.
[00:02:04.073]or fix an engine or,
[00:02:05.959]you know, whatever the case may be, you know, like I said, it's
[00:02:08.661]we couldn't truly get to the learning goals
[00:02:11.931]that we would want with STS without the hands on portion,
[00:02:15.018]want them to be able to come down here
[00:02:16.186]and you know, have a good time while they're learning and,
[00:02:18.655]you know, putting in that hard work.
