- [00:00:10.810]I've always
- [00:00:11.544]grown up being a Husker fan, so that's definitely a big proponent
- [00:00:14.748]my family's come here for generations, but just the fun of it.
- [00:00:17.751]Just when I came on the visit, meeting people,
- [00:00:20.420]meeting the faculty members, they're so warm and inviting.
- [00:00:24.224]They really want you to be a part of that community
- [00:00:26.259]that's almost like a family, which really made it inviting to come here.
- [00:00:29.262]Dr. Hastings works with a lot of people in the leadership fields, and so
- [00:00:33.033]she knows, like these theories inside and out and so she can teach it so well.
- [00:00:37.971]The leadership capstone course, you take it independently,
- [00:00:41.474]you get to take what you're interested in and find an internship or a job
- [00:00:45.879]that molds into that, and you get to apply everything you've learned in class.
- [00:00:49.716]Another one that I loved I just took
- [00:00:51.251]last semester was ALEC 466, which is leadership in diversity.
- [00:00:55.255]And that was just so eye opening to listen to everybody's different perspectives,
- [00:00:59.426]different takes on what they've gone through in life.
- [00:01:02.462]The leadership minor is huge.
- [00:01:04.431]It can help with anything.
- [00:01:06.066]There are people who are going into education
- [00:01:08.234]with the minor, communications with it, hospitality,
- [00:01:11.304]because it gives you the mindset and the framework
- [00:01:13.706]to understand where people are coming from and then to also understand
- [00:01:16.776]where you're coming from yourself.
