No Place Like It
Description
When Andrea Haring left a voicemail to the university thanking Husker staff for making her two daughters feel at home, we could hear in her voice the enormity of this gratitude. Her home is clearly with her daughters, and she carries them with her wherever she goes — and, wherever they go. We knew this voicemail was special, a message that perfectly expanded on the themes explored in “Home Again” and exemplified how Nebraska’s campus creates a home.
We chose to work with the Haring daughters, Lauren and Madison, and use their story to demonstrate all the ways life at Nebraska feels like home. As we hear their mother Andrea’s words in voicemail, we see her daughters happily living their campus lives. Though the voicemail is singular in its emotion, the Haring’s story is universal — every parent, guardian, sibling or family member can attest that while there’s no place like home, there’s also no place like Nebraska.
