- [00:00:12.000]In this video, we'll be
- [00:00:13.230]demonstrating the first step in
- [00:00:14.820]the process of requesting
- [00:00:16.140]accommodations:
- [00:00:17.000]sending your course
- [00:00:17.880]accessibility letters to your
- [00:00:19.230]instructors.
- [00:00:20.000]First, navigate to ssd.unl.edu
- [00:00:25.000]and fully open the browser on
- [00:00:26.310]your device.
- [00:00:27.000]On the SSD website, select "Student
- [00:00:30.110]Login."
- [00:00:31.000]Log in by using your UNL single
- [00:00:32.610]sign-on credentials.
- [00:00:34.000]Be ready to complete the Duo
- [00:00:35.830]two-factor authentication.
- [00:00:38.000]This is where you'll see your
- [00:00:39.070]student dashboard.
- [00:00:40.000]Your dashboard may notify you
- [00:00:41.670]of e-agreements that you need
- [00:00:43.320]to sign.
- [00:00:44.000]Please review these documents
- [00:00:45.400]and acknowledge them using the
- [00:00:46.800]prompts on the screen.
- [00:00:48.000]You should now see an overview
- [00:00:49.860]of your AIM account dashboard.
- [00:00:52.000]At the top of the page, you'll
- [00:00:53.230]see a navigation bar where you
- [00:00:54.720]can access help or sign out
- [00:00:56.010]from your account.
- [00:00:57.000]On the left is a black sidebar
- [00:00:59.110]titled "My Dashboard," which
- [00:01:01.380]contains various menu options.
- [00:01:03.000]Here, you can navigate to
- [00:01:04.910]sections like overview,
- [00:01:07.010]announcements, equipment, login
- [00:01:09.330]and security, and others.
- [00:01:11.000]You'll also find an
- [00:01:12.290]accommodations section where
- [00:01:14.220]you can access options like
- [00:01:15.320]list requests and alternative
- [00:01:17.230]testing.
- [00:01:18.000]Your access is unique to you,
- [00:01:20.000]so you will only see
- [00:01:21.160]accommodations that you are
- [00:01:22.950]approved for.
- [00:01:24.000]Toward the middle of the
- [00:01:25.340]dashboard,
- [00:01:26.000]you'll see two primary sections.
- [00:01:28.000]On the left under "Accommodation
- [00:01:29.990]Requests Term"
- [00:01:31.000]is a box that displays the
- [00:01:32.110]number of requests for the term
- [00:01:34.000]along with a number in large
- [00:01:35.680]font indicating the total
- [00:01:37.010]number of requests already
- [00:01:38.320]completed.
- [00:01:39.000]Note that the term and year,
- [00:01:43.000]such as Summer 2025,
- [00:01:43.000]will adjust automatically based
- [00:01:44.630]on the current semester.
- [00:01:46.000]Below is an option labeled "Add
- [00:01:48.190]Requests" for the remaining
- [00:01:49.900]number of classes.
- [00:01:51.000]This number will also adjust
- [00:01:52.270]automatically based on the
- [00:01:53.790]number of classes
- [00:01:55.000]you can still request
- [00:01:56.020]accommodations.
- [00:01:57.000]To submit your accommodation
- [00:01:58.850]request to faculty,

- [00:02:07.000]you would like to request
- [00:02:08.110]accommodations.
- [00:02:09.000]Similarly to how courses are
- [00:02:10.440]displayed in Canvas or MyRED,
- [00:02:12.000]the lecture, lab, and recitation
- [00:02:13.650]component for each class may be
- [00:02:15.450]listed as a separate course.
- [00:02:17.000]Check all the classes you would
- [00:02:18.580]like accommodations in.
- [00:02:20.000]If you would like to request
- [00:02:21.480]identical accommodations for
- [00:02:23.170]all your courses,
- [00:02:24.000]you can check the box labeled "Apply
- [00:02:26.230]the same accommodations to all

- [00:02:40.000]you would like to use for each
- [00:02:41.480]class.
- [00:02:42.000]When finished, read the terms

- [00:02:53.000]that your request was submitted
- [00:02:56.190]successfully.
- [00:02:58.000]This system will email your
