- [00:00:13.310]Dean of Extension. And I want
- [00:00:15.790]to reach
- [00:00:16.140]out to each of you and say
- [00:00:17.950]welcome. We are so glad that
- [00:00:20.240]you have made the decision to
- [00:00:22.440]be a part of
- [00:00:23.280]Nebraska 4-H Extension team. We
- [00:00:26.420]hope that this career is
- [00:00:28.000]fulfilling to you and that you
- [00:00:30.400]embrace
- [00:00:31.240]every moment of it. And I'm
- [00:00:33.510]going to share my screen for
- [00:00:35.640]just a second to see how you
- [00:00:37.700]have made
- [00:00:38.540]a difference and will be making
- [00:00:40.310]a difference in the lives of
- [00:00:41.870]young people across our state
- [00:00:43.700]and across the country and
- [00:00:45.620]beyond. Every day you are here
- [00:00:48.020]to think about positive youth
- [00:00:50.170]development.
- [00:00:51.480]In Nebraska,
- [00:00:53.280]we prepare young people to be
- [00:00:54.820]leadership ready. We think
- [00:00:56.540]about how they can be more
- [00:00:58.110]innovative
- [00:00:58.520]and entrepreneurial. And we
- [00:01:00.780]have focus areas around ag and
- [00:01:02.940]food systems, college and
- [00:01:04.680]career
- [00:01:05.040]pathways, STEM, and health and
- [00:01:07.320]wellness. Each of you will be
- [00:01:09.440]involved in making learning
- [00:01:11.380]experiences
- [00:01:12.200]that are age appropriate and
- [00:01:14.300]are outcomes driven for young
- [00:01:16.350]people in those areas.
- [00:01:18.220]We also have a variety of
- [00:01:19.720]different learning options in
- [00:01:21.680]Nebraska 4-H.
- [00:01:23.280]We work through 4-H clubs, 4-H
- [00:01:25.420]camps, school enrichment, after
- [00:01:28.470]school programs,
- [00:01:29.600]special interest groups, and
- [00:01:31.700]virtual examples of programming.
- [00:01:33.920]Think about the opportunities
- [00:01:37.080]that await you. You have joined
- [00:01:40.440]a group of people from across
- [00:01:43.320]the state who are part of the
- [00:01:45.600]Extension team. This map
- [00:01:47.460]represents the educators, about
- [00:01:49.820]45 to 50, along with the 4-H
- [00:01:51.980]and 4-H programs.
- [00:01:52.640]the 4-H assistants who serve
- [00:01:55.240]all 93 of Nebraska counties.
- [00:01:58.270]You will make an amazing
- [00:02:00.240]difference
- [00:02:01.280]in reaching one out of three
- [00:02:03.150]age-eligible youth across the
- [00:02:05.260]state, about 144,000. We are so
- [00:02:09.570]glad
- [00:02:10.160]that you have become part of
- [00:02:12.170]our team. We want to be here to
- [00:02:14.820]support you in whatever your
- [00:02:16.910]work
- [00:02:17.120]looks like and whatever you
- [00:02:18.900]need from us. That team of
- [00:02:20.580]people that you saw on the map,
- [00:02:22.480]our 4-H program area leaders,
- [00:02:24.670]our state 4-H team, I
- [00:02:26.350]personally, we're all here to
- [00:02:28.560]help
