[00:00:16.000]experience, not only showing me how great the state is geographically
[00:00:21.000]and how we're placed in the global scale, but also the people.
[00:00:25.000]And just the assets that Nebraska itself has at its disposal through our
[00:00:29.000]public institutions
[00:00:30.000]whether it's University of Nebraska-Lincoln
[00:00:33.000]Omaha, UNMC, Curtis, all those things are
[00:00:36.000]at the forefront of what they're studying and something that's
[00:00:39.000]truly to be to be cherished by each and every Nebraskan.
[00:00:43.000]During my first year of the LEAD Program,
[00:00:45.000]I was approached to be on the historical society board for Hamilton County, where I'm from.
[00:00:51.000]So, I sit on the historical society board.
[00:00:53.000]This program has kind of driven me to think bigger picture
[00:00:56.000]to be more involved in my community, whether that's through
[00:00:59.000]city council, county commissioner type stuff
[00:01:01.000]and getting involved in other things. When my children are in school, going to school board stuff.
[00:01:06.000]Other things I'm doing now is that after our UNMC seminar,
[00:01:09.000]I reached out to one of our speakers, Dr. Ann Anderson
[00:01:12.000]about doing possibly some ag advocacy work for just
[00:01:15.000]their childhood cancer research that they're doing at UNMC.
[00:01:18.000]If that opens up another possibility, we'll see where that takes us.
