- [00:00:00.000]in a couple of minutes time you have worked through four different words four different
- [00:00:15.680]core words and so now you have a combination of i like i want i not want i do not like right
- [00:00:23.820]You like, maybe if we start to pull in another one of the pronouns, you do not like, not like,
- [00:00:30.700]okay? So within just a couple of moments, you have exposure to be able to build out a lot of
- [00:00:37.680]different phrases for your students with word combinations, just with four core words, okay?
- [00:00:44.780]So we pulled it into books. We pulled it into candy. We can pull it into drinks. We can pull
- [00:00:52.260]it into their favorite items, their favorite activities. You get to build the context, right,
- [00:00:58.420]based on what your student is motivated for, and you get to build that context. But you can use
- [00:01:05.020]these words for all sorts of reasons in that. So here are two different scenarios. You tell me. I
- [00:01:13.960]just gave you four core words that I wanted you to use specifically, but what words on this core
- [00:01:21.280]board could you do? What words would you use to build the context for your students? What words
- [00:01:22.240]finishing up you're just finishing up the calendar time in the morning and
- [00:01:26.200]you're ready to transition into reading what is just one core word that you
- [00:01:33.920]could use in practice during the week during that time want help stop yep
- [00:01:44.840]finished open finished go okay right it okay stop we're all finished with
- [00:01:52.820]calendar time aren't we and so we would just pair that
- [00:01:56.180]word. Time to stop. Time to stop. We're all finished, okay? We're done. And then we can say
- [00:02:04.310]time to go to reading, right? Open. It's time to open the book. And so we can start to just
- [00:02:12.350]use a single word, modeling a single word during these times. And then let's look at a second
- [00:02:19.070]scenario. You guys are good at this. A service provider walks into the room because they are
- [00:02:25.030]going to do the services in that classroom with you. What word could we pull in to describe that
- [00:02:35.330]scenario? Help. Yeah, help. Look, look, you guys, that's a beautiful way to help with joint
- [00:02:45.470]attention, isn't it? Oh, look, Miss Jessica's here. Yay. Help.
- [00:02:53.890]No. Oh, yeah. No. Who? You? You. You look. Yeah. In. Come in. Very good. All right. So just use
- [00:03:08.170]those core words that are immediately available out on that main core board. You don't, that's
- [00:03:15.410]the beauty of core. We don't have to hurry and pre-program in something. It makes us efficient
- [00:03:22.750]and effective in immediacy and meeting the students' needs, meeting our needs. We don't
- [00:03:29.990]have to delve into the fringe, right? The 20% instead of that 80%.
- [00:03:37.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:38.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:39.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:40.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:41.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:42.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:43.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:44.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:45.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:46.390]Thank you.
- [00:03:47.390]Thank you.
