[00:00:16.000]It was the perfect thing at the perfect time for me personally.
[00:00:20.000]With my roles in leadership in my
[00:00:23.000]community, it gave me confidence, experience
[00:00:26.000]and wisdom on how to tackle several different challenges that I was dealing with.
[00:00:30.000]It may be a better communicator and public speaker.
[00:00:34.000]Not that I'm good at any of those by any means, but it pushed me out of my comfort zone.
[00:00:39.000]And that really just improved me
[00:00:41.000]in so many different ways, personally.
[00:00:43.000]Some of those were easy, some were hard.
[00:00:46.000]But it also taught me how to...
[00:00:48.000]...how to still respect people in different opinions.
[00:00:51.000]Because throughout Nebraska, there's so much diversity on so many different things
[00:00:55.000]that I was never exposed to that LEAD was able to
[00:00:59.000]to give me that experience.
[00:01:01.000]It also told me to listen more
[00:01:04.000]then speak.
[00:01:05.000]And I think that's
[00:01:06.000]one of the true qualities of a leader.
[00:01:08.000]Do I know what I'm going to do with this going forward?
[00:01:11.000]No.
[00:01:12.000]But LEAD has prepared me in so many different ways.
[00:01:15.000]I think one of the the things I'm going to do is to
[00:01:19.000]just serve others because I think that's a true
[00:01:21.000]what a true leader does is to serve others, not for
[00:01:24.000]your own gain, but for theirs.
[00:01:27.000]And each one of us that participated in the
[00:01:30.000]program and even here in Nebraska, we're blessed so much.
[00:01:33.000]And I believe we're blessed to bless others.
[00:01:37.000]So I'm going to look for opportunities to
[00:01:39.000]just incorporate all the stuff I learned
[00:01:42.000]into serving others.
[00:01:44.000]And being a leader, I think it's important to have a willing heart, an open heart
[00:01:49.000]I think it's just important to put yourself ahead of other people.
