[00:00:30.570]Something I've learned from this experience
[00:00:32.400]is basically what an actuary is.
[00:00:34.800]So before this, I was super into computer science,
[00:00:37.800]and I actually wanted to be an engineer.
[00:00:40.200]I would recommend this camp to others
[00:00:41.850]because a lot of people don't really know
[00:00:43.980]what an actuary is,
[00:00:45.210]and that was my case.
[00:00:46.620]This whole experience really highlighted the pros
[00:00:49.980]and cons of being an actuary.
[00:00:51.690]The Excel hands-on work,
[00:00:53.190]visiting all those amazing insurance companies,
[00:00:55.860]learning so much.
[00:00:57.900]I've learned specifically different fundamentals
[00:01:00.990]of accounting, parts of that,
[00:01:02.850]such as auditing, tax, fraud,
[00:01:05.520]just different things that intertwine
[00:01:07.530]with finance and accounting.
[00:01:09.300]It's just a way to get your foot in the door
[00:01:11.190]and really see UNL campus more.
[00:01:14.940]What I've enjoyed most
[00:01:16.080]was visiting the different types of firms
[00:01:18.840]and seeing, like,
[00:01:19.673]what the daily life of an accountant is like,
[00:01:21.810]find out about accounting,
[00:01:22.740]but also if you're interested in Nebraska,
[00:01:24.840]I think it's cool to stay in the dorms.
[00:01:27.870]From this experience,
[00:01:29.130]I have learned that no matter your background,
[00:01:32.820]no matter how different you are
[00:01:34.110]from the person sitting next to you,
[00:01:35.610]there's always something to connect.
[00:01:37.320]It allows you to step out of your comfort zone,
