- [00:00:01.166]Hey, one more day.
- [00:00:05.750]One more day closer.
- [00:00:07.541]-I just love my job.
- [00:00:09.375]And most people don't talk to the talk to the students, but I do, you know.
- [00:00:13.541]I appreciate it. You bet. Well. Thank you.
- [00:00:17.333]I get I get connected with them in various ways
- [00:00:21.583]and, just have a sense of purpose, purpose in life.
- [00:00:25.416]That's that's good.
- [00:00:28.583]And I clean the microwaves every day because it is totally disgusting.
- [00:00:32.875]Even though it says cover your dish, people
- [00:00:35.750]don't.
- [00:00:40.583]When I'm
- [00:00:40.833]wiping off the tables, I, you know, and there's somebody
- [00:00:44.416]sitting next to me, I'll ask them how their day is or whatever.
- [00:00:48.208]And then, like, if it's Friday, I'm like, “Well, thank God for Friday” you know.
- [00:00:52.041]How's it going?
- [00:00:54.000]Good.
- [00:00:55.375]Try to stay safe. Yeah.
- [00:00:57.791]The kids make me young.
- [00:00:58.875]And, I'm friends with everybody.
- [00:01:01.583]Even though I don't know their names.
- [00:01:03.291]They know mine.
- [00:01:04.166]And, you know, I'm 51, and I'm like, you know, I was feeling it
- [00:01:08.458]until I got this job.
- [00:01:09.500]I'm like, man, I walk like, 25,000 to 30,000 steps a day here.
- [00:01:15.125]You know that, that's amazing.
- [00:01:16.791]That's like 10 to 15 miles here.
- [00:01:23.041]I was in a wreck in 1995.
- [00:01:28.041]I have massive brain injury and the,
- [00:01:31.583]I was in a coma for two weeks in the hospital for,
- [00:01:35.125]you know, around five months.
- [00:01:38.166]The doctor said I had traumatic brain injury for rest of my life.
- [00:01:41.750]Well, that's that's good. But,
- [00:01:44.750]I was walking a month later, and,
- [00:01:48.708]I was 22 at the time, you know?
- [00:01:50.875]So I'm doing the best I can. And,
- [00:01:54.750]the kids are important to me, and I think that
- [00:01:58.208]I'm getting feedback because.
- [00:01:59.708]Because I, I want to give.
- [00:02:02.250]Because I was once a drug addict, an alcoholic, and and took,
- [00:02:06.500]took, took and never gave.
- [00:02:10.250]So this this time I'm giving. Giving back.
- [00:02:13.791]What's this for?
- [00:02:15.000]-You can share what you love most about UNL
- [00:02:16.375]and we’ll stick it on the board,
- [00:02:17.500]just to showcase to everyone what you love most.
- [00:02:20.541]Husker Football, of course.
- [00:02:23.291]Yeah, I just I just,
- [00:02:25.958]love my job and and what it stands for and and Go Big Red.
