- [00:00:18.544]today.
- [00:00:19.080]I think the whole entire country is just going through a cold
- [00:00:21.941]front right now.
- [00:00:23.240]So we hope to bring you a lot of great information kind of keep
- [00:00:27.800]you inside for tonight.
- [00:00:30.120]So tonight is a true webinar.
- [00:00:32.360]So during the whole entire session, you're going to be
- [00:00:34.730]learning a lot of information, but you might have questions and
- [00:00:37.488]we want you to ask those questions.
- [00:00:39.280]We want to make sure that when you leave later tonight when you
- [00:00:42.415]log off that you have all of your questions answered when it

- [00:00:48.160]And our webinar future feature will be using the Q&A
- [00:00:51.649]function.
- [00:00:52.440]So at the bottom of your screen or the bottom of your phone or
- [00:00:55.317]your bottom of your iPad, your tablet, you'll see that Q&A.
- [00:00:58.760]We will save time at the very, very end of the webinar to
- [00:01:01.423]answer those questions.
- [00:01:02.480]But if you have a question throughout the whole entire
- [00:01:05.349]session, just pop that question right into the QA function.
- [00:01:08.880]We do have experts on the back end who are going to answer
- [00:01:11.649]those questions.
- [00:01:12.840]They'll be answering those questions in real time, but they
- [00:01:15.906]may save that question for the end because you asked such a
- [00:01:18.972]great question that the whole entire webinar needs to hear the
- [00:01:22.191]response to that question.
- [00:01:23.840]But the goal is to answer all questions by the time that we
- [00:01:26.871]log off tonight.
- [00:01:27.680]So again, if you do have a question, just put it into that
- [00:01:30.598]Q&A function.
- [00:01:32.000]Throughout the webinar, we'll also be sending some links to
- [00:01:35.582]the chat.
- [00:01:36.120]So there is a chat function.
- [00:01:37.720]You won't be able to chat with us.
- [00:01:39.240]We can just push things out to you.
- [00:01:41.600]But I will be pushing out different web links and
- [00:01:44.440]everything that I would encourage you to bookmark or
- [00:01:47.451]encourage you to peruse while you're in this session.
- [00:01:50.920]But I will be pushing out to out those those out to you
- [00:01:54.021]throughout the whole entire night.
- [00:01:56.600]We have you until 8:00.
- [00:01:58.680]We could go all the way to 8.
- [00:02:00.720]We'll try to be done at 8:00.
- [00:02:01.880]But again, our goal is to get you all the relevant information
- [00:02:05.107]and most importantly, make sure that you get all of your
- [00:02:08.026]questions answered.
- [00:02:09.840]All right, without further ado, I'm going to stop talking.
- [00:02:12.640]I'm going to push it over to my colleague Matt Nelson, and he's
- [00:02:15.991]going to tell you all about living on campus.
- [00:02:18.720]Matt, thank you, Kayla.
- [00:02:22.000]Good evening, everyone.
- [00:02:23.120]Thanks for joining us.
- [00:02:24.000]Thanks for spending your evening with us and inviting us into
- [00:02:27.125]your homes.
- [00:02:28.320]Before we get too far down here, we want to share with you who
- [00:02:31.862]you'll be seeing and hearing from tonight.
- [00:02:34.880]Like Kayla said, my name is Matt Nelson.
- [00:02:36.880]I have the pleasure of serving as the Director of Residence
- [00:02:39.572]Life here at Nebraska.
- [00:02:41.120]And I'm joined by my colleagues, Abby and Lee, who I will let
- [00:02:44.699]introduce themselves here.
- [00:02:46.400]Abby, why don't you start us?
- [00:02:49.360]Hi, my name is Abby Grove.
- [00:02:50.920]I'm an associate director with Residence Life and I work with
- [00:02:54.688]our Learning Community program and all of our academic
- [00:02:58.030]initiatives.
- [00:03:02.520]Good evening, everyone.
- [00:03:03.720]My name is Lee Tiedemann.
- [00:03:05.080]I have the pleasure of working as the director of Fraternity
- [00:03:07.682]Sorority Life.
- [00:03:08.280]I'm looking forward to getting to talk with you about what it
- [00:03:11.512]means if you or your student or excuse me, your student, find
- [00:03:14.745]the place or a home in our Greek community.
- [00:03:18.360]Thank you, Abby, thank you, Lee.
- [00:03:20.120]So that's your crew tonight, plus Kayla and a couple folks
- [00:03:23.424]behind the scenes answering questions for us.
- [00:03:26.480]So we'll get started here.
- [00:03:27.760]The reason why you're here is to learn all about, you know,
- [00:03:30.511]housing and dining, what living on campus at Nebraska is like.
- [00:03:33.960]Excuse me, My slide advanced.
- [00:03:36.000]So let's start with the end in mind, right?
- [00:03:38.600]Living on campus at Nebraska is just what first year students
- [00:03:41.652]do.
- [00:03:42.000]It's part of the Husker experience.
- [00:03:44.360]In fact, it's an essential part, right?
- [00:03:46.640]And we know you'll be better for it, not only socially and and in
- [00:03:50.624]terms of your transition to college, but there's data, both
- [00:03:54.245]national data and data here on campus.
- [00:03:56.600]Research suggests that folks who live on campus do better.
- [00:04:00.080]They're better in the classroom.
- [00:04:01.160]Their GPA S are higher.
- [00:04:02.880]They advance in credit hours at a higher rate.
- [00:04:05.600]And you know what?
- [00:04:06.360]They graduate at higher rates too.
- [00:04:08.560]You could Google that tonight.
- [00:04:09.920]You could see some national data, but I can tell you that
- [00:04:12.509]happens here at UNL as well.
- [00:04:14.320]And not only academically, but also socially and involvement
- [00:04:17.732]and, and all the extracurricular things that make Nebraska so
- [00:04:21.200]special, right?
- [00:04:22.560]Whether that's, you know, getting involved in a club or
- [00:04:25.500]organization and one day being the leader of that group or
- [00:04:28.597]being part of our clubs and our intramurals.
- [00:04:31.760]Gosh, maybe you're going to be part of the Greek community like
- [00:04:35.007]Lee suggested, or really want to dive in deep to the research in
- [00:04:38.305]your kind of particular focus and discipline.
- [00:04:41.080]Our students who live on campus are close to all of those
- [00:04:44.048]resources.
- [00:04:45.040]And the other thing you should know, living on campus, you've
- [00:04:48.877]got about 400 people like the three of us who are here because
- [00:04:52.776]they want to serve you.
- [00:04:54.200]They want to work with you, they want to see you succeed.
- [00:04:56.960]We could work at lots of different places.
- [00:04:59.240]We choose to work here because we, we value the experience, the
- [00:05:02.563]college experience and, and want to be here to support you.
- [00:05:06.360]We literally have staff who provide the roof over your head
- [00:05:09.349]and, and tend to that make sure you have a safe and comfortable
- [00:05:12.538]environment, make sure you're well fed, right?
- [00:05:15.200]All those people are here for you and your success.
- [00:05:18.080]And frankly, that I think that culture of care is what makes
- [00:05:21.274]this place so special and, and what I think makes our students
- [00:05:24.573]feel like they belong, that they matter.
- [00:05:27.320]And so let's, let's tease on that a little bit more, right?
- [00:05:29.880]What makes it so different?
- [00:05:31.280]Why, why should I live on campus?
- [00:05:32.640]What's what's so special?
- [00:05:34.640]Not only are you going to be close to all the campus
- [00:05:37.559]resources, whether that's the Health Center or campus
- [00:05:40.534]recreation, whether that's gosh, I can get to class pretty quick
- [00:05:44.115]or I can hit that faculty members office hours.
- [00:05:47.040]Those things are very true.
- [00:05:48.240]There is there's power and proximity, right?
- [00:05:51.200]But also you're close to the fun stuff too, whether that be
- [00:05:55.110]athletic events, events, right in your hall on campus things,
- [00:05:59.150]study groups, things outside of of office hours, right?
- [00:06:02.920]You're close to all those things.
- [00:06:05.000]And there's as a result of that, there's just like some magic
- [00:06:07.933]that happens, right?
- [00:06:08.880]That all those things together, that, that ease of access, that
- [00:06:12.278]proximity, the fact that their students not not so much tonight
- [00:06:15.677]walking across campus because it's so darn cold.
- [00:06:18.720]But but that is the power of place.
- [00:06:20.920]And I think that's what happens when you live on campus.
- [00:06:24.000]And, and maybe if I could, I think this might be the only
- [00:06:26.965]time in your life that that you'll be in this situation.
- [00:06:30.320]So I think it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, right?
- [00:06:33.480]I don't know.
- [00:06:34.160]I can't think of another time in your life that you're going to
- [00:06:37.781]be surrounded by folks who are at the same point in their life,
- [00:06:41.403]have similar aims and motivations that they want a
- [00:06:44.289]really good quality education, right?
- [00:06:46.960]When you move off campus, when you, when you take that first
- [00:06:50.129]job downtown and, and you're in an apartment, your community and
- [00:06:53.505]that environment will look different.
- [00:06:55.480]They'll have different aims and motivations.
- [00:06:57.400]And so I do think that this experience, not only is it a
- [00:07:01.030]wonderful experience, not only will it help you in lots of
- [00:07:04.788]different ways and contribute to the memories that you have in
- [00:07:08.800]college, but I think it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, which
- [00:07:13.004]is pretty cool.
- [00:07:15.160]So let's talk a little bit about what it actually looks like to
- [00:07:18.335]live on campus.
- [00:07:19.080]Where am I actually going to be living?
- [00:07:21.680]The majority of our students, first year students live in what
- [00:07:24.791]we call traditional style housing.
- [00:07:27.160]Now if I have any parents or family members tonight here who
- [00:07:30.522]are alums, you might recognize some of these residence hall
- [00:07:33.829]names.
- [00:07:34.760]But on our city campus we have able Sandos, Harper, Schramm and
- [00:07:39.797]Smith and on our east campus Massengale residential center.
- [00:07:45.080]Now these rooms look similar to the the image depicted on your
- [00:07:48.968]screen.
- [00:07:49.600]It's, you know, your roommate and yourself sharing a bedroom
- [00:07:52.869]and you each have your, your own bed and you've got your dresser
- [00:07:56.353]and, and I've got my desk and you've got your desk and that
- [00:07:59.569]sort of thing.
- [00:08:00.800]And together we work together as a unit to make that place feel
- [00:08:04.432]like home.
- [00:08:06.080]So outside of our room, when we open that door and exit the
- [00:08:09.666]room, we are surrounded by other folks who are in the same room
- [00:08:13.492]configuration, right, who are going to share that floor
- [00:08:16.839]community and, and really build, build a, a floor that is one
- [00:08:20.546]that is to remember, right?
- [00:08:22.160]And so yes, we're going to share spaces like the bathrooms where
- [00:08:25.988]we've got sinks and, and private toilets and private showers.
- [00:08:29.640]We're going to share that space, but we'll also share the laundry
- [00:08:32.876]room, the study room and the lounge on the floor as well.
- [00:08:36.400]So that's sort of the lay of the land.
- [00:08:37.680]That's generally what you can, can expect.
- [00:08:40.200]And, you know, there's lots of reasons to think that this is
- [00:08:43.319]this is a great living environment.
- [00:08:45.560]I love traditional style housing for first year students because
- [00:08:49.375]it sets you up for success.
- [00:08:51.400]What other way can you meet that many people in such a short
- [00:08:54.482]amount of time?
- [00:08:55.240]Right.
- [00:08:56.080]And so especially as you start, you know, thinking about this
- [00:08:59.687]transition, I think about students, you know, who find
- [00:09:02.887]great success are ones who are able to, to get to know their
- [00:09:06.436]surroundings and have kind of a network of support around them.
- [00:09:10.600]And frankly, the traditional style housing is the way to go
- [00:09:13.750]because you've got access to so many folks, folks who are
- [00:09:16.796]similar to you, who have similar experiences, folks who are
- [00:09:19.947]different, right?
- [00:09:21.680]And together you've got just real easy access to meet a lot
- [00:09:25.380]of folks in a short amount of time and ease that transition to
- [00:09:29.266]college.
- [00:09:29.760]Remember, everyone's going through this together.
- [00:09:31.880]No one's done this before.
- [00:09:33.520]So I think there's, there's that value in community and the
- [00:09:36.792]social environment that that provides.
- [00:09:39.480]The other reality I think is true is that, you know, the
- [00:09:42.388]majority of our students who are moving in have never lived, have
- [00:09:45.755]never shared a bedroom with another person.
- [00:09:48.480]That's that's a kind of a long forgotten thing that a lot of
- [00:09:51.796]our students don't have experience doing.
- [00:09:54.640]And frankly, that's a rich learning environment.
- [00:09:57.640]Living with someone who comes from a different background, has
- [00:10:01.312]a different story, has different skills and talents, quirks,
- [00:10:04.869]right, those sorts of things.
- [00:10:06.560]That environment is rich for learning.
- [00:10:09.480]We, we hear a lot from our colleagues in career services
- [00:10:12.421]who help the work with employers and connect employers to
- [00:10:15.415]students.
- [00:10:16.200]They often talk about the importance of being able to, to
- [00:10:19.837]be on a team and communicate well, communicate both good news
- [00:10:23.726]and bad news, right And, and be honest and open.
- [00:10:27.280]Those things happen in a residence hall environment,
- [00:10:29.934]happen really, really easily in this sort of environment.
- [00:10:32.840]So that'd be one thing to think about.
- [00:10:35.360]You're negotiating that relationship, which is probably
- [00:10:38.101]new for you and, and you're doing it together with one other
- [00:10:41.087]person sharing that space.
- [00:10:43.240]And if I didn't sell you yet, a little toilet humor for you, you
- [00:10:47.000]know, I don't know about you, but cleaning the bathroom,
- [00:10:50.297]cleaning the shower, the toilet, that is not my favorite chore.
- [00:10:54.320]And so in a traditional environment, that floor restroom
- [00:10:57.466]is cleaned daily by our hospitality staff.
- [00:10:59.840]So yeah, I might be sharing that space, but man, I'm not
- [00:11:02.694]responsible for cleaning it, which is a great, great feature.
- [00:11:06.000]So with that, I'm going to turn it over to Abby.
- [00:11:09.120]She's going to talk us through.
- [00:11:10.720]We do have a a different style of housing that we're going to
- [00:11:13.568]walk through and then also talk about our learning communities
- [00:11:16.463]and themed communities.
- [00:11:18.640]Thanks, Matt.
- [00:11:20.520]So as Matt mentioned, we do have another configuration of rooms
- [00:11:24.676]available for certain groups within our first year student
- [00:11:28.507]population and that's our suite style housing.
- [00:11:31.840]You're going to see the names on the screen, university Suites,
- [00:11:35.187]East Side Suites and Knoll.
- [00:11:36.600]And these three buildings are all connected together to kind
- [00:11:40.297]of create one complex of buildings.
- [00:11:43.240]The first year of students who would be living in our suite
- [00:11:47.272]style falls are our learning community students, those in
- [00:11:51.170]University Honors or at are part of an athletic team.
- [00:11:55.840]So we are, as Matt mentioned, very committed to helping your
- [00:12:00.780]student or helping you have the best social network possible
- [00:12:05.721]upon arriving to campus and getting acclimated to the
- [00:12:10.095]community that you're in.
- [00:12:12.560]And we find that traditional style living really provides the
- [00:12:17.170]best Ave.
- [00:12:17.840]for that.
- [00:12:18.920]You can see on the floor plan here that even within a suite
- [00:12:22.708]style room, you do still have a roommate.
- [00:12:25.360]So you're still negotiating that roommate relationship, but there
- [00:12:30.343]are two other roommates as well.
- [00:12:32.880]You're working with a suite of four people.
- [00:12:35.640]So if you are a little overwhelmed thinking about the
- [00:12:38.755]future of having a roommate and maybe that's not something
- [00:12:42.159]you've experienced before, keep in mind that in a traditional
- [00:12:45.736]style living space, it's really just you and one other person
- [00:12:49.313]and you're just working on that relationship, that one-on-one
- [00:12:52.890]relationship.
- [00:12:54.200]Whereas in a suite there is the added layer of the other two
- [00:12:57.928]people in the suite as well.
- [00:12:59.960]And so you're really working in a four person relationship and
- [00:13:03.588]that can just add some different nuances to the relationship.
- [00:13:07.880]We also find that because our suites have a few more amenities
- [00:13:11.891]within the room itself, including bathroom, shower and a
- [00:13:15.520]small living space, as well as a little kitchenette snack prep
- [00:13:19.531]area, that sometimes this means students have a harder time
- [00:13:23.351]finding their way out of their room and meeting people on their
- [00:13:27.426]floor because they don't really have to leave their room to use
- [00:13:31.500]the restroom go grab a snack in the same way that students in
- [00:13:35.448]our traditional halls do.
- [00:13:37.880]And so that's why we're really convinced that the students who
- [00:13:41.230]are already part of the community based program, like
- [00:13:44.102]honors, like learning communities, like athletics, are
- [00:13:47.028]going to be able to overcome some of those barriers of the
- [00:13:50.166]suite style environment in a way that a student who's maybe not
- [00:13:53.570]connected to a community might have a little bit of a harder
- [00:13:56.814]time doing.
- [00:13:58.320]So you'll see here.
- [00:13:59.240]This is the configuration for our standard first year suite
- [00:14:03.845]style housing.
- [00:14:05.280]We're going to talk a little bit more about our learning
- [00:14:07.642]communities and theme communities on the next slide.
- [00:14:11.920]So our learning communities are groups of students that live
- [00:14:16.590]together.
- [00:14:17.520]They share an academic major, a future career or pre
- [00:14:20.611]professional path, or perhaps their personal interest and
- [00:14:23.995]identity.
- [00:14:25.040]We have two styles of learning communities, our traditional
- [00:14:27.977]living learning communities and our themed communities.
- [00:14:31.280]They're very similar.
- [00:14:32.360]They benefit from many of the same resources, benefit from a
- [00:14:37.024]peer mentor, faculty and staff sponsors.
- [00:14:40.560]The one difference between a learning community and a themed
- [00:14:43.761]community is that students in a learning community are going to
- [00:14:47.121]be taking some shared courses together and students in a
- [00:14:50.113]themed community don't have that academic requirement.
- [00:14:53.800]So we have our learning community, students take classes
- [00:14:57.600]together.
- [00:14:58.600]That connection that they build in the classroom carries over
- [00:15:02.415]into the hall and vice versa.
- [00:15:04.520]So we're really hoping students not only create a social
- [00:15:07.338]environment, a social network, but an academic support system
- [00:15:10.404]as well.
- [00:15:11.280]And these two things together create a really strong
- [00:15:15.174]environment for students to navigate their first semester,
- [00:15:19.509]their first year at the university in order to apply for
- [00:15:23.697]a learning community.
- [00:15:25.760]You can do that on our housing portal within My Red.
- [00:15:29.720]And that application deadline is April one.
- [00:15:33.240]Our theme communities are really more of an OPT in model.
- [00:15:36.760]So whereas with our learning community, there's a short
- [00:15:40.116]application where you're responding to a few essay
- [00:15:43.172]questions, our theme communities are open to anyone and you can
- [00:15:47.008]opt in and you'll know right away whether you've been
- [00:15:50.244]accepted and will essentially accept people until we run out
- [00:15:53.900]of space.
- [00:15:54.440]But there's really no concern about capacity with our theme
- [00:15:57.440]communities.
- [00:15:58.800]Our learning communities, as I mentioned, have an application
- [00:16:01.979]deadline of April 1 and we will send out our notifications on
- [00:16:05.159]April 4th as to who has been accepted into a learning
- [00:16:07.928]community and then who would be waitlisted for that community.
- [00:16:12.520]One important thing to keep in mind for both our learning
- [00:16:15.773]communities and our theme communities is that if you
- [00:16:18.746]desire to apply for a learning community or you choose to opt
- [00:16:22.224]into a theme community, you would be rooming with other
- [00:16:25.365]students in that community.
- [00:16:27.360]So think about our experience, Life sciences, learning
- [00:16:32.707]community.
- [00:16:34.520]We are keeping all of our students who have interest in
- [00:16:38.091]pursuing a life sciences major like Biological Sciences,
- [00:16:41.725]chemistry, forensic science, and we're keeping them all together
- [00:16:45.870]in the same part of the hall.
- [00:16:47.840]So they're not wandering around wondering like where is the next
- [00:16:51.032]biochemistry major or how will I ever find them.
- [00:16:53.760]They're all together in the same part of the suites.
- [00:16:56.960]So their roommates will be life sciences majors, Folks down the
- [00:17:00.342]hall from them will be life sciences majors.
- [00:17:03.080]It's a great way to know that when you move in on day one,
- [00:17:06.536]you're going to be surrounded by the people who are pursuing some
- [00:17:10.403]of the same majors as you, maybe have similar career goals,
- [00:17:13.919]taking those shared courses.
- [00:17:15.880]That's a really great way to create those connections right
- [00:17:18.180]off the bat.
- [00:17:19.600]The next slide is going to show a list of our learning community
- [00:17:23.767]options.
- [00:17:24.840]We have a number of different learning communities for all
- [00:17:29.198]sorts of different majors, all sorts of different academic
- [00:17:33.556]paths.
- [00:17:34.440]And then we have our 2 theme communities.
- [00:17:36.600]We're actually launching theme communities this year.
- [00:17:38.960]So there's that's why that's a smaller list.
- [00:17:42.080]Our theme communities are for our ROTC students.
- [00:17:46.240]And then a new theme community called Into the Outdoors, which
- [00:17:49.900]is geared towards students who want to make outdoor adventuring
- [00:17:53.619]and spending time in nature and just general outdoor activities
- [00:17:57.337]a core part of their college experience.
- [00:18:00.600]Then on the left you'll see that list of learning communities,
- [00:18:05.272]everything from music to pre health to pre vet sports media,
- [00:18:09.795]architecture.
- [00:18:10.840]A great long list there and then you'll see the URL at the bottom
- [00:18:15.020]and I believe Caleb put that in the chat.
- [00:18:17.760]learncom.unl.edu is a great place to kind of drill a little
- [00:18:22.357]bit deeper on each one of these communities and learn more about
- [00:18:27.337]their focus area.
- [00:18:29.120]See a list of the classes that are going to be involved in that
- [00:18:32.300]learning community and just learn more about our program as
- [00:18:35.282]a whole.
- [00:18:42.080]Regardless of what community you find yourself in, whether it's a
- [00:18:45.737]learning community or a themed community, or if you decide you
- [00:18:49.228]know what, I'm going to go in with a little bit more of an
- [00:18:52.497]open-ended experience in mind.
- [00:18:54.160]I'm just going to live in one of our halls without necessarily
- [00:18:57.899]being part of the community Ahead of the time, ahead of
- [00:19:01.223]time.
- [00:19:02.080]Regardless of what you choose, you're going to be supported by
- [00:19:06.378]a number of different professional staff and peer
- [00:19:09.790]staff.
- [00:19:10.960]I'll talk 1st about some of our great student staff that work
- [00:19:13.936]with us.
- [00:19:15.440]Our resident assistants are core to our mission and within
- [00:19:19.872]residents life.
- [00:19:21.400]They help us fulfill our vision, which is that we're committing
- [00:19:25.104]to care for your student and we commit to knowing your students
- [00:19:28.808]names and knowing who they are as people.
- [00:19:31.600]And our, our resident assistants are also known as Ras, are the
- [00:19:35.040]folks who are really doing that on a daily basis on the floors.
- [00:19:38.920]So every floor has at least one resident assistant and that RA
- [00:19:42.865]is really the captain of the floor.
- [00:19:45.600]They plan events and programs for the floor to build
- [00:19:49.563]community, to create that family feel.
- [00:19:53.080]And then they also meet with students individually to check
- [00:19:56.323]in and see how the transition to college is going.
- [00:20:01.080]And then there's key points throughout the semester where
- [00:20:03.733]they'll kind of check back and you know, midterms are coming up
- [00:20:06.661]or this is your first to college final exam.
- [00:20:08.720]How are you feeling?
- [00:20:09.440]What can we do to help you manage your well-being during
- [00:20:11.822]this time?
- [00:20:12.960]They're really a great resource for connecting to a different
- [00:20:16.965]offices across campus, finding out ways to get involved and
- [00:20:20.841]maybe a hobby that you've have you're interested in or, or just
- [00:20:24.975]kind of finding your niche.
- [00:20:26.760]They can point you in the right direction and they're really
- [00:20:29.897]outgoing and friendly people and they love to sit down and chat.
- [00:20:34.280]Our learning community peer mentors, I kind of alluded to
- [00:20:36.911]them earlier, but these are upper division students that
- [00:20:39.497]work individually with our learning communities.
- [00:20:42.120]They have some similar functions as a resident assistant.
- [00:20:44.960]They're planning programs, they're creating that community
- [00:20:48.125]feel, but they are focused more on individual learning
- [00:20:51.076]communities.
- [00:20:51.920]They're often in the same academic major or part of the
- [00:20:54.635]same college as the learning community that they mentor.
- [00:20:58.600]And then lastly, our desk assistants are part of our desk
- [00:21:02.290]program.
- [00:21:03.200]The front desks of the residence halls are often a part of the
- [00:21:07.400]residence hall infrastructure that get overlooked.
- [00:21:10.920]We're quick to talk about the rooms, the bathrooms, the dining
- [00:21:16.385]centers.
- [00:21:17.400]We often don't think about what happens at the front desk, but
- [00:21:20.434]this is like a Nexus of where everything comes together in our
- [00:21:23.469]residence halls.
- [00:21:24.640]This is where your students are going to go to get information
- [00:21:27.244]about what's happening in the building on any given day.
- [00:21:30.040]They're going to get their mail there.
- [00:21:31.920]They're gonna be able to get their packages there.
- [00:21:34.600]They're gonna be able to, you know, get an extra key if they
- [00:21:37.983]happen to lock themselves out of the room, which I can assure you
- [00:21:41.643]will never happen to you, I'm sure.
- [00:21:44.200]But just in case it does, they can help you with that.
- [00:21:47.200]But our desk assistants are great hubs of knowledge and of
- [00:21:50.990]just pointing you in the right direction for any resource you
- [00:21:54.973]might need.
- [00:21:56.560]So that's our students staff.
- [00:21:57.720]We have a lot of students staff that work for residents life.
- [00:22:00.520]And then our professional staff are vast in number and expertise
- [00:22:05.114]as well.
- [00:22:06.160]We have residents directors who are full time professional staff
- [00:22:09.659]that live in each building and of course they're there for
- [00:22:12.836]emergencies and unusual things that happen, but they're also
- [00:22:16.120]there to build relationships with students as well.
- [00:22:19.880]These staff plan programs, they meet with students one-on-one,
- [00:22:23.604]they help navigate tricky roommate relationships.
- [00:22:26.880]They provide advice for maybe what to to do next after the
- [00:22:30.452]first year of living on campus is over and then you're starting
- [00:22:34.327]to make decisions about well, like coming back next year.
- [00:22:37.840]My going to try to move off campus.
- [00:22:40.200]What are my my options?
- [00:22:41.720]They can provide great advice on that and we have a whole crew of
- [00:22:45.572]additional residents, life staff that don't necessarily live on
- [00:22:49.307]campus, but still work on campus every day and are there to help
- [00:22:53.101]your students with any variety of needs that they might have.
- [00:22:58.000]I'd also like to highlight our counselor and residence program,
- [00:23:00.824]which is a really cool and unique program we have in
- [00:23:03.162]Nebraska.
- [00:23:04.240]We have masters level students from the Family and Marriage
- [00:23:09.099]Therapy program who hold their office hours every week in the
- [00:23:14.120]halls, so they are available for free counseling for your
- [00:23:18.817]students for any of life's challenges that might come your
- [00:23:23.596]way.
- [00:23:24.080]Maybe you are a little more homesick than you expected you
- [00:23:27.569]were going to be, or you're having a relationship challenge
- [00:23:31.119]that's just really difficult to work through.
- [00:23:33.960]Or maybe something happened at home in your family life and
- [00:23:36.628]it's really making it difficult to stay focused on your studies
- [00:23:39.475]at school.
- [00:23:40.640]Our counselors and residents are convenient and available to help
- [00:23:45.312]with those mental health issues that you might come across.
- [00:23:50.080]And I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention our counseling
- [00:23:53.367]and psychological services within the University Health
- [00:23:56.542]Center for more elevated mental health concerns.
- [00:24:00.480]Lastly, I'll mention our registered dietitians who are
- [00:24:04.343]great resources as you navigate the world of dining within
- [00:24:08.488]residents life and within University housing.
- [00:24:12.160]We want to make sure that you feel excited about what you're
- [00:24:16.342]going to eat on a daily basis, that you know you have delicious
- [00:24:20.731]and safe food for you, regardless of what dietary
- [00:24:24.159]restrictions you might have.
- [00:24:26.680]So we have a registered dietitian who's able to work
- [00:24:30.150]with students one-on-one to create a plan, custom menus,
- [00:24:33.882]whatever it might be, so that you have reliable and safe and
- [00:24:37.877]that you say food that you can be confident that what you're
- [00:24:41.871]eating is going to fill fill your dietary needs.
- [00:24:46.080]So I think on that note, we're going to segue back over to Matt
- [00:24:48.796]and he's going to share a little bit more about our dining
- [00:24:51.300]program.
- [00:24:53.040]Oh, thanks, Abby, yes, let's talk about dining advance our
- [00:24:57.490]slide here.
- [00:24:59.840]If you aren't food motivated like me, that might be a skill
- [00:25:03.907]set you need to acquire here soon.
- [00:25:06.280]Our on campus dining is fabulous.
- [00:25:09.920]It is quite a bit to explain, so we're going to hit the
- [00:25:12.876]highlights tonight.
- [00:25:14.400]What I promised to you over the next several months before you
- [00:25:18.046]actually move in and arrive on campus in August, we'll give you
- [00:25:21.751]all the details you want to know.
- [00:25:24.320]We'll give you a little now.
- [00:25:25.640]We'll see you again in March and see a couple times over the
- [00:25:28.791]summer too.
- [00:25:29.800]And each time we'll go a little bit farther in depth.
- [00:25:32.240]But at this point, what I want you to know is that on campus
- [00:25:36.100]dining is awesome.
- [00:25:37.520]It's flexible and convenient.
- [00:25:40.080]But sometimes when something's this flexible and this
- [00:25:42.954]convenient, it is a little challenging to understand, It's
- [00:25:46.095]a little complex.
- [00:25:47.440]And so trust me when I say our students figured out once they
- [00:25:50.184]get here, they're here a couple days and they figure it out,
- [00:25:52.885]they they know exactly how to utilize their meal plan.
- [00:25:56.200]So bear with me, I'm going to, I'm going to give you some
- [00:25:59.126]Nuggets tonight, but we're not going to take it all all at once
- [00:26:02.356]tonight.
- [00:26:02.760]So what I want you to know, again, flexible, convenient and
- [00:26:06.408]we we're going to talk through meal swipes and dining dollars.
- [00:26:10.240]Now we have lots of meal plan options.
- [00:26:13.320]Each meal plan comes with these two cat, these two different
- [00:26:17.038]components, meal swipes and dining dollars.
- [00:26:19.720]I want to put a pin in that because I'll come back to it.
- [00:26:22.520]But each meal plan comes with kind of varying levels of these
- [00:26:25.407]two things.
- [00:26:26.160]Think of that as your, your buying power, right?
- [00:26:28.600]How you use your meal plan will be these two things.
- [00:26:32.280]Now let's talk more broadly about on campus dining in
- [00:26:35.258]general, where, where are the locations?
- [00:26:37.520]What kinds of foods are there?
- [00:26:39.440]That sort of thing.
- [00:26:40.840]There are lots of kind of different categories of of
- [00:26:43.988]dining options.
- [00:26:45.760]So for instance, these gals in the picture on your screen, they
- [00:26:49.349]are in Cather dining center.
- [00:26:51.240]That is one of our self-serve or all you care to eat or set
- [00:26:55.422]another way buffet style dining centers.
- [00:26:58.800]So that's, you know, you come in, you eat as much as you care
- [00:27:01.884]to, and then you put your tray out, you know, put your dishes
- [00:27:04.969]away and then you, you head on out.
- [00:27:07.160]That might be something you, your, you and your student want
- [00:27:09.600]to explore, right?
- [00:27:11.080]Your student might also find that the convenience of a mobile
- [00:27:14.710]ordering app might be helpful too.
- [00:27:16.960]So we have gosh, two different dining centers that are
- [00:27:20.596]exclusively mobile or mobile first, right?
- [00:27:23.440]And so your student can customize exactly how they want
- [00:27:27.393]their their burger or their Qdoba burrito bowl, how they
- [00:27:31.418]want that prepared.
- [00:27:33.400]Put it on the app.
- [00:27:35.680]They'll be notified when it's ready.
- [00:27:37.320]They can choose to dine in or they can choose to take it out.
- [00:27:41.040]So again, you've got your all you care to eat.
- [00:27:42.960]You've got mobile ordering.
- [00:27:44.600]We also have a sub sandwich concept called Herbie Husker
- [00:27:48.223]Heroes, which you again can use your mobile ordering app to to
- [00:27:52.227]kind of order to go right.
- [00:27:53.920]Great option when you're between classes.
- [00:27:56.200]That's what I happened to do for lunch today.
- [00:27:58.680]I was between things and and grabbed a a lunch on the on the
- [00:28:02.471]go, you know.
- [00:28:03.280]OK, so now you've got three, you've got three options.
- [00:28:05.200]Another option is our Herbie's markets.
- [00:28:08.640]Those are our convenience stores.
- [00:28:10.640]Those again, leverage the power of the meal plan.
- [00:28:14.000]You can use your meal plan at those locations as well.
- [00:28:17.400]I didn't even mention the Starbucks and the Chick-fil-A
- [00:28:20.321]and the Steak 'n Shake in the Union, which you more than you
- [00:28:23.503]know, you can more than use your meal plan there too.
- [00:28:27.280]We're getting into some of those really finer details, those
- [00:28:30.995]specifics, but suffice to say that lots of campus dining
- [00:28:34.467]options spread throughout campus and that your meal plan between
- [00:28:38.426]meal swipes and dining dollars, you can leverage that and and
- [00:28:42.202]dine across campus.
- [00:28:43.480]I guarantee you won't be bored.
- [00:28:46.080]A couple things though, kind of spread throughout that I want
- [00:28:49.291]you to know about and and to highlight the 1st is Abby
- [00:28:52.139]mentioned a little bit about our registered dietitians.
- [00:28:55.440]We have staff on campus who work one-on-one with students to make
- [00:28:59.411]sure that they are well fed, that they have a nutritious meal
- [00:29:03.142]and that their meal is, you know, thoughtful and considerate
- [00:29:06.812]of their dietary needs and restrictions.
- [00:29:09.800]That happens one-on-one, but I will say the majority of our
- [00:29:14.072]students who do have a dietary allergy or restriction are able
- [00:29:18.558]to dine as normal.
- [00:29:20.120]The, the, the university has built this kind of universal
- [00:29:23.235]design system that you can go to a dining center and you'll find
- [00:29:26.726]something that that meets your need that you can customize your
- [00:29:30.164]order on the mobile app to make it exactly what you need.
- [00:29:34.000]So most of our students find success there.
- [00:29:36.320]But again, we've got that resource, that one-on-one
- [00:29:38.587]coaching that can, can really help leverage the meal plan.
- [00:29:41.840]A couple things that I want you to know, again, as built
- [00:29:44.450]environment, right?
- [00:29:45.320]So if I have, for instance, if I had, oh gosh, say one of the,
- [00:29:49.479]the 8 most common allergens, we have a line dedicated in Harper
- [00:29:53.704]Dining Center that everything on that line removes the 8 most
- [00:29:57.797]common allergens.
- [00:29:59.320]That'll be your homework tonight to go out and figure out what
- [00:30:01.425]those eight are.
- [00:30:02.280]But everything on that line is safe, right?
- [00:30:04.760]If I'm worried about, oh gosh, I'm not even going to, I'm not
- [00:30:08.587]even going to, I'm going to make you go out and do the research.
- [00:30:12.760]I want you to learn there's actually 9.
- [00:30:14.360]So go out and figure that out.
- [00:30:16.120]But the, the idea is that this is just what normal business is,
- [00:30:19.338]right?
- [00:30:19.640]You can go and, and you can dine this way.
- [00:30:21.880]The other one I want to highlight is at Selleck, we have
- [00:30:25.870]a Moxie's Cafe.
- [00:30:27.280]It's an entirely gluten free cafe.
- [00:30:30.680]And so you can again, or order on the mobile app, customize it
- [00:30:34.502]exactly how you want, but everything served in, in that
- [00:30:37.900]cafe is, is all gluten free.
- [00:30:39.600]In fact, it's and I've set aside and I call it vacuum sealed, but
- [00:30:43.522]there's controls to make sure that the food is prepared in a
- [00:30:47.147]very Safeway.
- [00:30:48.480]So know that we're being very thoughtful.
- [00:30:50.440]If your student has an allergy or dietary need, we got you
- [00:30:54.028]taken care of.
- [00:30:55.880]The other thing I like to highlight and really cash brag
- [00:30:59.368]on a little bit is, you know, as a state institution, as as a
- [00:31:03.162]land grant institution, we think we ought to care about what
- [00:31:06.896]happens to the land.
- [00:31:08.200]And so, and we need to be thoughtful stewards of the land
- [00:31:11.320]and resources given to us.
- [00:31:13.360]And so a couple ways dining's doing that.
- [00:31:15.160]The first you should know is as much as we can, we try and
- [00:31:18.540]locally source our food, including our beef, right?
- [00:31:21.760]So that's one way.
- [00:31:22.480]We're, we're building this ecosystem, this environment
- [00:31:25.170]where we're both sustainable and thoughtful to the land around
- [00:31:28.253]us.
- [00:31:28.920]The other thing, you know, gosh, in a dining center, we have a
- [00:31:32.163]lot, we can have a lot of food waste.
- [00:31:34.120]And So what can we do to educate but also divert food waste?
- [00:31:38.280]And so we're doing some good work.
- [00:31:39.920]Another thing you could Google is a bio digester.
- [00:31:42.040]See if you can figure out what that is.
- [00:31:44.160]But let's, let's go back to meal plans.
- [00:31:45.960]Let's talk a little bit more specifically.
- [00:31:48.880]So on your screen you're seeing 5 meal plans.
- [00:31:51.880]These are the five meal plans that a first year student can
- [00:31:55.246]select from.
- [00:31:56.600]As you can see, each of them comes with an allotment of meal
- [00:32:00.358]swipes and dining dollars.
- [00:32:02.960]In fact, all four from Big Red, Platinum, Diamond and Sapphire,
- [00:32:06.830]those four all the same price point, so there's no difference.
- [00:32:10.640]It's just the difference in the meal swipes and dining dollar
- [00:32:13.901]allocation.
- [00:32:14.480]As you look through that, the premium meal plan is what I call
- [00:32:17.840]our Cadillac plan.
- [00:32:19.160]That is for folks who want to make sure they never go hungry.
- [00:32:23.800]Just kidding.
- [00:32:25.120]But as you can see again, remember each one has meal
- [00:32:27.699]swipes.
- [00:32:28.040]Each one has dining dollars.
- [00:32:30.200]A meal swipe is given per week.
- [00:32:32.560]So if I'm on the big red plan, I have 14 swipes per week.
- [00:32:38.720]Those start on Sunday.
- [00:32:40.640]Use as many as you can throughout the week.
- [00:32:42.720]What you don't use will retire and on that next Sunday you get
- [00:32:47.919]14 fresh swipes.
- [00:32:49.880]So they, they, they don't recycle they, but they, they
- [00:32:53.090]reset, I guess you could say every Sunday.
- [00:32:56.360]The dining dollars is a, is an allotment for the semester
- [00:33:00.139]that's use it for the semester.
- [00:33:02.680]Those will expire at the end of the semester and you get another
- [00:33:05.568]allotment the following semester.
- [00:33:07.760]So again, trust me when I say we'll get into the intricacies
- [00:33:11.281]throughout the next several months.
- [00:33:13.360]But suffice to say, again, very flexible, very convenient
- [00:33:16.992]students figure out how to leverage the meal swipe and the
- [00:33:20.687]dining dollars to maximum benefit.
- [00:33:24.120]But there is no wrong choice here.
- [00:33:26.200]So any of these five meal plans will serve your student very
- [00:33:29.194]well.
- [00:33:30.160]There's not one plan that's better for people who you know
- [00:33:33.115]aren't going to have breakfast or whatever you can.
- [00:33:35.800]You can leverage the meal plan, any of these meal plans to to
- [00:33:39.583]meet your needs.
- [00:33:41.440]But some of you've already applied for housing.
- [00:33:44.040]You might have been prompted to pick a meal plan.
- [00:33:46.160]Totally fine.
- [00:33:47.400]If something I said tonight spurs you into action and you
- [00:33:50.657]want to change to Big Red, you can go back into the housing
- [00:33:54.028]portal and do that now.
- [00:33:55.720]You can change it 100 more times from now until July.
- [00:33:59.800]Do whatever you need again.
- [00:34:00.800]Remember there isn't a bad choice.
- [00:34:03.520]Make a decision once you get to campus again, I'd encourage you
- [00:34:07.261]to try it out.
- [00:34:08.200]There will be a meal plan change period once you kind of test
- [00:34:12.251]drive it.
- [00:34:13.160]If you think you made a bad decision again, remember you
- [00:34:16.091]couldn't possibly have done that.
- [00:34:18.400]But there is a meal plan change period even later.
- [00:34:20.920]So again, remember, we're going to we'll dive deep in throughout
- [00:34:24.265]the semester, throughout the semester in the summer and get
- [00:34:27.353]you well prepared.
- [00:34:28.280]But that sort of meal plans in a nutshell.
- [00:34:33.200]OK, so let's talk action items for you all.
- [00:34:37.720]Said another way, what we talked about earlier, right, is that
- [00:34:40.940]living on campus is just part of the Husker experience, right?
- [00:34:45.240]Hopefully we've detailed reasons why this is a great decision for
- [00:34:49.585]you, but the university strongly believes in this residency
- [00:34:53.535]experience, right?
- [00:34:54.720]And so much so that there's an on campus residency requirement
- [00:34:58.243]that all first year students live on campus.
- [00:35:01.440]Now that could be accomplished in a few ways.
- [00:35:04.680]Of course 1, you could live on campus, which Abby's going to
- [00:35:08.022]talk about residence hall application.
- [00:35:10.560]She'll talk about that next.
- [00:35:12.640]Two, you could consider living in a fraternity and Lee's going
- [00:35:15.937]to talk about that here a little bit later.
- [00:35:18.360]So that could be a second option or the third option.
- [00:35:21.360]You might say, you know what, I qualify for one of these
- [00:35:25.045]particular exemptions listed on the screen and that'd be that'd
- [00:35:29.184]be fine too.
- [00:35:30.960]Now the main one that we see students from the local area, if
- [00:35:34.406]you're within 30 miles of campus, you can live at home.
- [00:35:37.680]Certainly regardless of which of the three that you select, we
- [00:35:41.294]need to know what your decision is.
- [00:35:43.440]And so whether that be apply for housing, confirm your residency
- [00:35:47.482]in a fraternity house or live at home, that's OK too.
- [00:35:50.840]We need to know whatever you, whatever you decide.
- [00:35:54.200]So with that, I'm going to pass it back to Abby here.
- [00:35:56.800]She's going to walk you through some of the timeline of applying
- [00:35:59.935]for housing and then she'll kick it over to Lee who will talk
- [00:36:02.926]about our fraternity sorority community and a bit about that
- [00:36:05.869]experience.
- [00:36:06.400]So Abby, it's all yours.
- [00:36:09.840]Thanks.
- [00:36:11.280]This next part of our presentation is a little bit
- [00:36:16.156]more in the weeds nitty gritty.
- [00:36:19.320]So a few more details and dates here.
- [00:36:22.280]But rest assured if you missed something or you just want to
- [00:36:25.940]confirm these dates again at a later time, which I'm sure you
- [00:36:29.660]will.
- [00:36:30.280]All of these dates are on our website.
- [00:36:32.040]And as Kayla mentioned, you can always run this webinar back and
- [00:36:35.153]and watch again.
- [00:36:37.760]But right now the housing application is open.
- [00:36:40.240]It opened January 15th.
- [00:36:42.160]So we've had a fun week or so watching the applications come
- [00:36:46.620]in.
- [00:36:47.080]But have No Fear, you are not behind the 8 ball.
- [00:36:49.960]You are not late if you haven't yet signed your housing
- [00:36:52.858]application.
- [00:36:53.920]In fact, there is no major benefit to signing your
- [00:36:57.749]application on the first day of January 15th or any time before
- [00:37:02.556]our first priority deadline of April 1.
- [00:37:06.720]So before we get into our deadlines, let's back up just a
- [00:37:10.217]second.
- [00:37:12.080]Your housing application will become available to you after
- [00:37:15.498]you pay your University of Nebraska enrollment deposit and
- [00:37:18.860]24 hours has passed.
- [00:37:20.400]The 24 hours is just our systems need to talk to each other and
- [00:37:23.750]update overnight.
- [00:37:25.560]So once you've paid that enrollment deposit, wait a day
- [00:37:28.577]and then you'll go into my red into the housing portal where
- [00:37:31.865]you'll be able to access the housing application.
- [00:37:35.560]You'll be asked to provide a ranking of your traditional
- [00:37:38.466]style residence hall preferences.
- [00:37:40.480]And these are the preferences that will be used when our
- [00:37:44.513]housing assignments team makes those room assignments in the
- [00:37:48.830]late spring.
- [00:37:50.840]If you are accepted into a learning community or if you are
- [00:37:54.434]accepted into honors or another program with a living
- [00:37:57.669]requirement, the hall associated with that program will default
- [00:38:01.503]to the hall that you're placed into.
- [00:38:04.240]So if you're in the housing application and you're like I
- [00:38:07.301]don't have the choice to select A suite and I'm going to apply
- [00:38:10.627]for a learning community, this doesn't feel right.
- [00:38:14.120]The traditional style ranking is only going to come into play if
- [00:38:17.822]you are not accepted into the learning community or if you
- [00:38:21.183]decide to change your mind later.
- [00:38:23.600]So any living requirements of a program that you're part of will
- [00:38:28.482]default to your profile upon acceptance into the program.
- [00:38:33.880]So I mentioned deadlines.
- [00:38:35.240]We encourage you to submit your application by our first
- [00:38:38.684]priority deadline of April 1 and certainly by our second priority
- [00:38:42.672]deadline of May 1.
- [00:38:44.200]Doing this will give you the best chance of being placed into
- [00:38:48.157]one of your preferred halls, and you'll receive that room
- [00:38:51.859]assignment on May 21.
- [00:38:53.880]So when you come back to campus for new student enrollment
- [00:38:57.931]orientation in the summer, you'll have your room already
- [00:39:01.844]determined.
- [00:39:02.600]And as you're walking around campus, you'll be able to start
- [00:39:05.544]creating that mental map of, you know, my hall is here and here's
- [00:39:08.731]where I'm going to be eating on a daily basis.
- [00:39:11.000]And it's this way to get to my academic buildings and this way
- [00:39:15.979]to get to the union.
- [00:39:17.560]So that's kind of a fun way to be able to really kick start the
- [00:39:21.130]beginning of your Husker experience is kind of creating
- [00:39:24.254]that map of campus for yourself.
- [00:39:26.880]If you are unable to submit your housing application by May 1st,
- [00:39:33.466]that's OK.
- [00:39:34.480]You'll still receive a room assignment.
- [00:39:36.520]You'll just receive that room assignment later in the summer.
- [00:39:40.040]So then we'll kind of work on a rolling basis through June and
- [00:39:42.967]July.
- [00:39:43.360]So you'll still have a place to live, you just won't hear by it
- [00:39:47.638]as early.
- [00:39:50.360]The next slide is going to show the timeline at a glance.
- [00:39:56.680]Our first housing priority deadline, as I mentioned, is
- [00:39:59.997]April 1 and then May 1.
- [00:40:01.360]So again, try to fill out the application by May 1 at the very
- [00:40:06.167]latest and then you'll be receiving that notification on
- [00:40:10.517]May 21st, the summer.
- [00:40:12.120]Those last three dates, they're pretty.
- [00:40:14.120]They're still pretty far into the future, so you don't need to
- [00:40:16.468]worry about them too much at this time.
- [00:40:18.800]July 23, our on campus housing move in dates and times are sent
- [00:40:23.476]out to you.
- [00:40:24.720]So then you'll know exactly what date and time you'll be moving
- [00:40:28.220]in, which will happen around August 17th through 21.
- [00:40:31.840]We'll also be hosting some other move in related webinars in the
- [00:40:35.913]later part of the summer.
- [00:40:37.760]Those are going to have a lot of information about what to bring,
- [00:40:40.901]how to pack, how does the actual move in process work.
- [00:40:44.280]So just kind of in the back of your mind.
- [00:40:46.600]Earmark those dates in July for more move in information.
- [00:40:57.120]Great.
- [00:40:57.600]Now it's my turn to talk to you a little bit about the
- [00:41:00.252]fraternity and sorority community at the University of
- [00:41:02.905]Nebraska Lincoln, which is my favorite thing to talk about.
- [00:41:05.800]So just a little bit more about the community.
- [00:41:08.640]We have over 42 members that find a home in one of our
- [00:41:11.822]fraternities and sororities on campus.
- [00:41:14.080]And as we're talking about housing tonight, we house just
- [00:41:17.660]over 1600 people in the facilities that we have on
- [00:41:20.807]campus.
- [00:41:21.560]We've got 53 actually a couple more that are just coming on
- [00:41:25.930]campus.
- [00:41:26.440]So I, I'm proud to say 55 chapters now, this is new
- [00:41:30.028]information here on campus with 30 different living units where
- [00:41:34.445]people can, people can stay so that over 4200 students make up
- [00:41:38.792]about 23% of the undergraduate population.
- [00:41:42.000]So that means almost one in four students that you see walking
- [00:41:45.372]around campus find a home in our fraternity and sorority
- [00:41:48.424]community.
- [00:41:49.920]Something that I think is important to know is that we
- [00:41:52.360]actually have 4 councils that are a part of the fraternity and
- [00:41:55.156]sorority community.
- [00:41:56.280]I think often times if you've seen a lot of movies about Greek
- [00:41:59.786]life or maybe TV shows, you really just think there's one
- [00:42:03.015]type of fraternity and one type of sorority.
- [00:42:06.360]And I want to make sure you hear it from me that we've got lots
- [00:42:08.739]of different options.
- [00:42:09.520]We have got both fraternities and sororities that have housing
- [00:42:12.837]on campus, some that are unhoused.
- [00:42:14.960]We've got culturally based organizations.
- [00:42:16.880]We also have historically black Greek organizations here on
- [00:42:20.173]campus, so there are four different governing councils and
- [00:42:23.412]four distinct ways that you can join a fraternity or sorority
- [00:42:26.816]here on campus.
- [00:42:28.280]I am always quick to brag on the GPA within our community, so the
- [00:42:32.793]the one we have posted here at a 3.4 for all fraternity GPA or
- [00:42:37.102]fraternity sorority life GPA versus a 3.298 for the all UNL
- [00:42:41.206]GPA.
- [00:42:41.920]Each of our organizations does have minimum standards around
- [00:42:44.645]their academics.
- [00:42:45.520]They also provide a lot of academic support as well to you
- [00:42:48.873]or your students.
- [00:42:50.680]But we are very proud that we are consistently above the all
- [00:42:54.608]UNLGPA when you look at our community.
- [00:42:57.480]And then finally, all of that information, all of those
- [00:43:00.146]students, all the different chapters, we all make up one
- [00:43:02.860]fraternity and sorority here on fraternity and sorority
- [00:43:05.527]community here on campus and provide support overall to them.
- [00:43:08.480]I've got there's we have an office of six and we are all
- [00:43:11.687]full time staff that are working to support the students that are
- [00:43:15.401]part of the community.
- [00:43:20.760]And I'm going to dig in a little bit in what it would look like
- [00:43:23.581]to live in a fraternity facility.
- [00:43:25.320]So most fraternities with facilities do participate in a
- [00:43:28.886]process called university approved housing.
- [00:43:31.640]So this process does allow for first year students to live in a
- [00:43:35.559]chapter facility.
- [00:43:36.760]So you heard me say earlier, some of our fraternities have
- [00:43:39.879]housing, some of them don't.
- [00:43:41.720]If you or your student decides to join a chapter with a
- [00:43:44.991]facility, they do have that option if they year university
- [00:43:48.438]approved to live in that first year.
- [00:43:51.160]Now I get a lot of questions about whether or not someone
- [00:43:53.944]should sign a housing application because they're
- [00:43:56.344]thinking about joining a fraternity.
- [00:43:58.400]And I will always say yes, you should sign a housing
- [00:44:01.281]application just in case.
- [00:44:02.880]What if you go through the process and you decide it's not
- [00:44:05.380]for you?
- [00:44:06.040]What if you go through the process and you decide to join a
- [00:44:08.511]fraternity that doesn't have a facility?
- [00:44:10.520]Or you might join a chapter with a facility but decide you want
- [00:44:13.826]to live in the residence halls because of all of those.
- [00:44:16.720]Great things that Matt and Abby have been talking about.
- [00:44:19.720]So I will always say please fill out the housing application just
- [00:44:23.531]in case there is communication that can start in the spring
- [00:44:26.997]between our chapters and students that might be
- [00:44:29.769]interested in joining.
- [00:44:31.200]But no official bids can be offered before May 19th.
- [00:44:34.760]And I want to tell you all, so you hear from me again, bids can
- [00:44:38.225]start being given on May 19th, but that doesn't mean they're
- [00:44:41.528]all given on that day.
- [00:44:42.720]So they're given all throughout the summer into the fall.
- [00:44:45.720]So they're, there's no concern if a bid isn't given on May
- [00:44:49.591]19th.
- [00:44:49.920]I just wanted to make sure I noted that.
- [00:44:51.840]But if you do receive a bid from a fraternity and decide you want
- [00:44:54.866]to live in that chapter facility, you do need to
- [00:44:57.113]communicate this with University Housing.
- [00:44:59.040]So Matt talked about this earlier.
- [00:45:00.720]You need to let University Housing know that you've decided
- [00:45:03.399]to live in the fraternity.
- [00:45:04.600]And then we verify that on our end from our office.
- [00:45:07.800]And again, one more thing I want to make sure I note here is that
- [00:45:11.192]if you decide to live in a fraternity, you will be signing
- [00:45:14.224]a housing agreement with the fraternity, not the university.
- [00:45:17.680]All of the facilities around campus that are Greek related
- [00:45:21.141]are owned by that organization.
- [00:45:23.200]So you do need to sign a housing contract with them.
- [00:45:26.000]But if there are any issues or anything that comes up, that
- [00:45:28.690]agreement is with that organization and not with the
- [00:45:31.066]university.
- [00:45:31.560]Now, you can always call our office and I am happy to help in
- [00:45:34.833]any way, shape or form with questions that might come up
- [00:45:37.842]around it, but just want to make sure I note that that actually
- [00:45:41.221]is an agreement with the fraternity and not with the
- [00:45:44.019]university.
- [00:45:45.120]But I am going to kick it back so that we can talk a little bit
- [00:45:48.201]more about parking and transportation.
- [00:45:50.080]But if you've got questions, I'll be answering them in the
- [00:45:52.132]Q&A's.
- [00:45:53.800]Thank you so much, Lee.
- [00:45:56.360]So a question we get asked a lot from our first year students is,
- [00:45:59.898]you know, can I bring a car?
- [00:46:01.560]Yes, at the University of Nebraska we are very welcome.
- [00:46:05.320]We welcome you to bring your own car for transportation.
- [00:46:09.000]You will purchase a parking permit though, so it is
- [00:46:11.416]important that you are do purchase a parking permit.
- [00:46:14.080]We have a right and options of permit to purchase, though we do
- [00:46:17.859]have garage parking.
- [00:46:19.200]Garage parking is conveniently located next to a lot of our
- [00:46:22.263]residence halls.
- [00:46:23.640]So sometimes it does snow in Nebraska.
- [00:46:26.360]So if you're looking for a nice way to protect your car during
- [00:46:29.735]some of those elements, whether it be snow or rain, a parking
- [00:46:33.056]garage might be a great option for you.
- [00:46:35.720]We also have residential parking spaces, so those are not
- [00:46:39.164]covered.
- [00:46:39.640]They're general parking lot, again, really close by to our
- [00:46:42.700]residence halls for convenience.
- [00:46:44.840]Now say you do a great shopping run to Target or Walmart, or you
- [00:46:48.975]go down and get some new Husker gear and you have just bags full
- [00:46:53.111]of new merchandise.
- [00:46:54.560]We also have parking right up to the residence halls too, so that
- [00:46:58.351]way you can park, unload all of your goodies, and then go back
- [00:47:01.970]and then park in your allocated spot based on your permit.
- [00:47:06.120]So there's lots of different options to park on campus.
- [00:47:09.360]We also want to make sure that you have the ability to get
- [00:47:12.477]around campus and get around Lincoln as well too.
- [00:47:15.440]If you've never been to the University of Nebraska, we are
- [00:47:18.156]actually made-up of three campuses, City campus, East
- [00:47:20.642]campus, innovation campus.
- [00:47:22.000]You may have classes on all three campuses.
- [00:47:24.600]You may want to get coffee at the on innovation campus.
- [00:47:28.640]So we do offer an inner campus bus system.
- [00:47:31.480]But good news, you can also utilize your end card to get on
- [00:47:34.525]the star Tran bus service, which is the Lincoln bus service and
- [00:47:37.773]go anywhere you want throughout the whole entire city of Lincoln
- [00:47:41.072]through those services.
- [00:47:42.600]So if you do not bring a card that is OK, you can still use
- [00:47:46.148]star Tran just by showing the bus drivers your end card.
- [00:47:50.080]We also like to talk about the city of Lincoln being very bike
- [00:47:54.269]friendly as well.
- [00:47:55.720]There are hundreds of miles different trails all across
- [00:47:59.115]Lincoln.
- [00:47:59.960]You can get from one end of Lincoln to the other by simply
- [00:48:03.301]on our bike trails or running trails too depending on how
- [00:48:06.587]adventurous you are.
- [00:48:08.320]But we also have a service called Bike L&K where you
- [00:48:11.604]can actually rent a bike just so they have multiple little
- [00:48:15.004]stations throughout campus.
- [00:48:16.920]You can just put in some information it unlocks and you
- [00:48:19.779]can ride your bike around campus too.
- [00:48:22.280]We also have bike lanes within downtown Lincoln so you can
- [00:48:25.443]navigate through downtown as well.
- [00:48:27.320]So lots of different options.
- [00:48:29.240]We also have the really fun Bird and Spin scooters.
- [00:48:33.320]I am not as adventurous as the home of our students.
- [00:48:35.480]I have not yet tried them, but they do around campus pretty
- [00:48:38.815]quickly on those.
- [00:48:39.760]So lots of great options to get around, whether it's within our
- [00:48:42.874]three campuses or throughout the whole entire city of Lincoln as
- [00:48:46.036]well.
- [00:48:47.000]I'm gonna go ahead and push it back over to Matt to round us
- [00:48:51.354]out.
- [00:48:51.880]Matt.
- [00:48:53.560]All right, Thanks, Kayla.
- [00:48:55.600]Well, we've finished our formal content on living on campus.
- [00:49:01.200]And so this slide, just a couple of reminders, right?
- [00:49:03.560]Lots of resources still available at your fingertips.
- [00:49:06.800]Our website housing.unl.edu, has virtual tours, has amenity
- [00:49:10.935]lists, has a little bit more about the things that Abby and I
- [00:49:15.209]talked about with learning Communities and hall staff.
- [00:49:19.680]Certainly more information about dining is on our website as well
- [00:49:23.129]as all of our staff too, so feel free to reach out if you have
- [00:49:26.422]additional questions.
- [00:49:27.760]Obviously, the Q&A is open and we're still taking questions
- [00:49:31.548]furiously typing behind the scenes.
- [00:49:34.160]But as we kind of closeout, please feel free to keep putting
- [00:49:37.252]questions in the Q&A.
- [00:49:39.200]Kayla, if I could, I'm going to kick it back to you and we'll
- [00:49:41.824]talk a little bit about what comes next.
- [00:49:47.240]Yeah, so I am very excited to.
- [00:49:49.720]I was just typing a message about this very own experience.
- [00:49:53.320]So as admitted students, we want to make sure that you have the
- [00:49:56.376]opportunity to come visit campus.
- [00:49:58.480]We want to make sure that you have the ability to learn about
- [00:50:01.442]academics.
- [00:50:02.120]We want to make sure that you can see our spaces, the spaces
- [00:50:05.125]you're not only taking classes in, but the spaces that you've
- [00:50:08.179]been living in, eating in, engaging with your future
- [00:50:10.790]classmates in.
- [00:50:12.000]So we have set up our admitted student day.
- [00:50:15.120]This is a one day event, 9:00 AM to 3:00 whenever you want to
- [00:50:19.617]call it done.
- [00:50:20.800]It's a very open-ended, but it's on Saturday, March 29th.
- [00:50:25.640]A lot of people ask is it required?
- [00:50:27.400]No, it's not required.
- [00:50:28.280]But if you're just looking for one day, one day where you can
- [00:50:32.927]just fully engulf the Husker spirit, this is it.
- [00:50:37.040]I understand that sometimes we have busy schedules.
- [00:50:39.680]Sometimes some of us want to go to like other things like prom,
- [00:50:42.971]really want to encourage you all to take those opportunities.
- [00:50:46.160]So if Admitted Student Day does not work in your schedule, we
- [00:50:48.556]have a variety of different options for you as well too.
- [00:50:50.760]I'm going to go ahead and put in the chat.
- [00:50:52.680]I apologize and not put the parking, but there's parking
- [00:50:55.157]information for you all.
- [00:50:56.400]So I'm also going to put in the chat information about admitted
- [00:50:59.605]Student Day, but then also just general visit information.
- [00:51:02.560]So again, and if you can't make it on Saturday, March 29th,
- [00:51:05.645]that's OK, but my team wants to see you on campus this semester,
- [00:51:08.988]maybe when it warmed up a little bit more.
- [00:51:11.440]But we do want to see you on campus really soon to help, you
- [00:51:14.457]know, make that decision on where your future lands.
- [00:51:19.200]Excellent, thank you.
- [00:51:20.280]Kayla, like I said, we will be there on March 29th and we'll
- [00:51:24.476]see you there.
- [00:51:25.800]I would love to see you.
- [00:51:27.080]We'll see you again for orientation in the summer and
- [00:51:30.111]actually we'll do another one of these webinars that late summer
- [00:51:33.760]right before move in which I don't know, Kayla, if I'm
- [00:51:36.847]jumping ahead of you, but these are the upcoming webinars and
- [00:51:40.328]I'll let Kayla pepper in any questions or commentary here.
- [00:51:44.600]But lots of more, you know, lots more engagement opportunities
- [00:51:48.042]for you.
- [00:51:48.960]We want to be here and answer your questions as you can see on
- [00:51:52.320]your screen.
- [00:51:53.320]A couple coming up here in February 1 about orientation and
- [00:51:57.281]new student enrollment.
- [00:51:58.800]Kayla, I'm going to let you take over this because just think, I
- [00:52:01.482]guess I don't miss speak here.
- [00:52:03.640]So we hope that you found tonight really helpful and
- [00:52:05.965]engaging.
- [00:52:06.360]We hope that you got all your questions answered.
- [00:52:08.160]Again, we're committed to getting all those questions
- [00:52:09.985]answered, so keep them coming.
- [00:52:11.520]But we want to make sure that we can continue to provide this
- [00:52:14.266]high level of service to you all as you navigate the spring
- [00:52:16.923]semester, as you get closer and closer feeling comfortable in
- [00:52:19.669]making your decision.
- [00:52:20.960]So we're hosting additional webinars throughout the spring
- [00:52:23.492]semester, again, to just keep you engaged and make sure that
- [00:52:26.110]we are here to serve you and get your questions answered.
- [00:52:29.080]So our next round of webinar is going to happen here.
- [00:52:31.280]Steve Weeks, believe it or not, is going to be on in February,
- [00:52:34.961]mid February, Tuesday, February 18th and Thursday, February
- [00:52:38.467]20th.
- [00:52:38.800]Your path to new student enrollment.
- [00:52:41.080]So this is going to be hosted by our new student enrollment
- [00:52:44.626]office.
- [00:52:45.040]They're going to talk about academic advising, They're going
- [00:52:48.345]to talk about orientation on campus orientation.
- [00:52:51.240]When all the information is going to come up, what do you
- [00:52:53.369]need to repair?
- [00:52:54.160]I think it's really important that you understand what do you
- [00:52:56.930]do before I come to orientation?
- [00:52:59.080]And then really important is we want to understand what does
- [00:53:01.886]that financial aid package looks like?
- [00:53:04.200]So we'll start rolling out all federal aid towards the end of
- [00:53:08.077]February.
- [00:53:09.360]And so we want to make sure that we have a, a session that you
- [00:53:11.898]can start looking at that aid package and understanding what
- [00:53:14.355]does this mean?
- [00:53:14.960]What does that mean?
- [00:53:16.400]So our Office of Scholarship Financial Aid as well as Husker
- [00:53:19.697]Hub are going to be hosting our interpreting your financial aid
- [00:53:23.156]offer on Tuesday, March 4th as well as Thursday, March 6th.
- [00:53:26.920]And then we'll take a break.
- [00:53:27.640]We're going to take a little bit of break so that you all can
- [00:53:30.323]enjoy prom.
- [00:53:30.800]You can all graduate high school, have your graduation
- [00:53:34.264]parties, Hyvee catering and all.
- [00:53:36.480]But then as you get closer and closer to the end of summer,
- [00:53:39.153]believe it or not, we want to make sure, like Abby mentioned,
- [00:53:41.915]we want to prepare you for moving to campus.
- [00:53:43.920]So we'll be hosting a second round of Husker Home, the move
- [00:53:47.570]in edition.
- [00:53:48.240]So this is going to highlight how you can prepare for a move
- [00:53:51.404]in.
- [00:53:51.560]What's that schedule going to look like?
- [00:53:53.400]What can I bring?
- [00:53:54.280]What can I not bring?
- [00:53:56.240]Just those really degree questions, we want to make sure
- [00:53:58.278]we get that in front of you.
- [00:53:59.480]Obviously you start preparing those move in webinars are going
- [00:54:02.907]to be hosted on Thursday, July 24th.
- [00:54:04.920]And then Tuesday, July 29th, I'm going to put into the chat not
- [00:54:09.365]only the webinar link, but also the link to our mid student
- [00:54:13.532]page.
- [00:54:14.080]So our mid student page is just for you all, for your students,
- [00:54:17.463]for the families on the chat, the Zoom call today.
- [00:54:20.160]We want to make sure you have one place where you can see all
- [00:54:23.118]the great information for our mid students, timelines,
- [00:54:25.742]deadlines, information.
- [00:54:27.560]Also fun things are on there too as well.
- [00:54:30.160]So we just want to make sure we provide a resource for all of
- [00:54:32.796]our mid students.
- [00:54:34.840]All right, I'm going to take a pause and try to look at the
- [00:54:38.695]chat to make sure that we're getting all of our questions
- [00:54:42.421]answered.
- [00:54:45.240]Oh, great question about parent orientation, student parent
- [00:54:48.173]orientations at the same time.
- [00:54:50.080]So that also happens in the summer, the month of May and
- [00:54:53.279]June.
- [00:54:53.960]So again, come to those February sessions, you'll learn more
- [00:54:56.826]about like if I'm a family member, what does my schedule
- [00:54:59.505]look like at orientation?
- [00:55:00.680]What am I doing on this day?
- [00:55:02.760]So go ahead and join us during those webinars so we can
- [00:55:05.551]highlight not only the student experience, but also the family
- [00:55:08.692]experience too.
- [00:55:09.440]Will you talk about when orientation, when I can sign up
- [00:55:14.307]for orientation, how that works?
- [00:55:17.200]Yes.
- [00:55:17.960]So for students who have submitted their enrollment
- [00:55:21.729]deposit by May 1st, information regarding orientation and
- [00:55:25.933]advising will be delivered to our students on May 2nd.
- [00:55:29.920]So as early as May 2nd in your inboxes, you'll be getting that
- [00:55:33.615]information about signing up for orientation, scheduling your
- [00:55:37.251]academic advising session and those checklist items.
- [00:55:40.360]What do we need to do to prepare for orientation?
- [00:55:42.960]So all the information would come on May 2nd, as long as you
- [00:55:46.663]have submitted that enrollment deposit by May 1st.
- [00:55:50.400]May 1st is our national deadline.
- [00:55:52.640]It is a national deadline that most universities abide by.
- [00:55:56.040]So you're going to see that a lot in the next few months,
- [00:55:58.505]students and families.
- [00:55:59.920]But May 1 is our big deadline to kind of solidify all this
- [00:56:03.824]important information.
- [00:56:05.280]Cool, thank you.
- [00:56:06.560]I know we had a your natural tendency, right, if you're a
- [00:56:09.992]planner like me, is to think about, oh, they mentioned move
- [00:56:13.542]in.
- [00:56:13.720]When will I know about move in?
- [00:56:15.880]If you're thinking about orientation, you're probably
- [00:56:18.013]also thinking about move in.
- [00:56:20.040]So kind of what Abby mentioned in our timeline, your housing
- [00:56:24.510]assignment will be given to you provided we get your application
- [00:56:29.273]by May 1st.
- [00:56:30.400]You'll get your housing assignment by the end of May
- [00:56:33.680]before you come to orientation.
- [00:56:36.200]So by that point you'll know your move in day.
- [00:56:39.480]Now you won't necessarily know the specific time slot that'll
- [00:56:43.022]come later in July, but especially for our folks who are
- [00:56:46.280]traveling from out of state in kind of late May, you're going
- [00:56:49.822]to know the day and then you'll get your time or specific time
- [00:56:53.422]in July.
- [00:56:53.880]And we'll talk more about that as we get closer.
- [00:56:56.800]But just for you planners out there, I wanted you to know,
- [00:57:01.800]Kayla, what do you think?
- [00:57:03.920]Maybe we have a question about safety.
- [00:57:05.840]Maybe you and I can can go back and forth on that one.
- [00:57:08.800]Yep, definitely the question was about safety on campus,
- [00:57:12.053]especially late at night.
- [00:57:14.040]One of my favorite kind of attributes of campus that is
- [00:57:17.890]rare, I think these days is that we have our own university
- [00:57:22.015]Police Department right here at UNL.
- [00:57:25.160]So we have fully sworn state of Nebraska official police
- [00:57:28.821]officers that are right here on campus who serve our community
- [00:57:32.869]exclusively.
- [00:57:34.480]They you'll see them if you've been to a Nebraska football
- [00:57:37.085]game, you'll see them out at the Nebraska football game and
- [00:57:39.735]you'll also see them patrolling and assisting students
- [00:57:42.165]throughout campus.
- [00:57:43.360]So if a visible sign of safety and security is, is what you're
- [00:57:47.164]going for, know that we've got gosh, such a great resource in
- [00:57:50.908]our Police Department, which not only helps with things that are
- [00:57:54.833]about visible safety, but also proactive measures that we can
- [00:57:58.578]take.
- [00:57:59.680]Even, you know, unfortunately, some of our students find
- [00:58:02.808]themselves in situations with some of the cyber scams and
- [00:58:05.992]those sorts of things.
- [00:58:07.200]They even help with those sorts of things.
- [00:58:08.520]So a really great resource about security.
- [00:58:12.480]The other thing maybe to know about safety and security, all
- [00:58:15.892]of our residence halls require card access to get in and out of
- [00:58:19.472]the building.
- [00:58:20.200]And so your student will get university ID, that'll be how
- [00:58:23.638]they get in and out of the front door of their building.
- [00:58:28.240]And so that's another layer, right?
- [00:58:29.880]Of course, the door, their bedroom door is got its own key
- [00:58:33.173]as well, But that's another layer when you think about
- [00:58:36.243]safety and security.
- [00:58:37.880]We also have staff who regularly are, are walking the
- [00:58:41.339]communities, making sure that folks are, are well taken care
- [00:58:45.247]of.
- [00:58:45.440]And if someone needs help that they're, they're given that help
- [00:58:47.849]that they might need.
- [00:58:49.240]Those are like high level like things when I think about safety
- [00:58:53.063]and security.
- [00:58:53.840]Caleb, what did I miss?
- [00:58:55.040]What other things should we talk about?
- [00:58:56.800]Yeah, I think it's an important resource that all of our
- [00:59:00.269]students will register for, sign up for when they do campus is
- [00:59:04.104]our my red alert, our our campus alerts.
- [00:59:06.920]So if there's anything that happens on campus, it's
- [00:59:10.142]something that just be aware of maybe, you know, Hamilton Hall,
- [00:59:14.109]maybe a chemistry students are doing something and an
- [00:59:17.456]experiment goes a different way.
- [00:59:19.760]Let's avoid that area, right?
- [00:59:22.600]So there's just a great amount of resources that get directly
- [00:59:25.426]sent to our phones, directly sent to our inboxes, assigned
- [00:59:28.115]members.
- [00:59:28.480]You can also sign up for UNL alerts.
- [00:59:30.280]So that way you just have an understanding of what's going
- [00:59:32.525]on.
- [00:59:32.800]Even if you are not in Lincoln, you're a distance away from
- [00:59:35.885]your, your student helps you understand what's going on on
- [00:59:38.920]campus.
- [00:59:40.200]I like to talk about a lot of our resource officers.
- [00:59:42.920]They're all over campus.
- [00:59:43.920]We have great relationships with them.
- [00:59:45.560]So our students here really connected to them.
- [00:59:47.680]They just make sure that our campus is safe, but mainly if
- [00:59:50.967]they're just a nice helpful smile around campus too.
- [00:59:56.160]Thank you, that was great.
- [00:59:57.640]Yeah, we have a few more questions that we'll answer the
- [01:00:00.746]answer on the back end.
- [01:00:02.320]But at this point in time, if you don't have any more
- [01:00:04.561]questions and you're like.
- [01:00:06.000]I am good.
- [01:00:07.000]I have gotten all the content I needed.
- [01:00:09.320]Two thumbs up.
- [01:00:10.840]Again, thank you so much for joining us today.
- [01:00:12.720]We really appreciate you for being here.
- [01:00:14.880]If you still have a question or your question has not yet been
- [01:00:17.348]answered, please hang on the line.
- [01:00:18.840]We'll get to those questions, but this is, I'm going to say,
- [01:00:21.829]formally completed.
- [01:00:23.040]I'm going to actually stop and pause our recording as well too,
- [01:00:27.434]so that this recording will be located on our admitted studio.
