The first annual Northeast Nebraska Ag Conference will be Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at the Lifelong Learning Center on the campus of Northeast Community College in Norfolk. The Ag Conference is co-hosted by the Bow Creek Watershed Project and the Bazile Groundwater Management Area (BGMA).

[00:00:12.100]The first annual Northeast Nebraska Ag Conference will be
[00:00:16.640]Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at the Lifelong Learning Center

[00:00:24.720]The Ag Conference is co-hosted by the Bow Creek Watershed Project
[00:00:28.720]and the Bazile Groundwater Management Area (BGMA)
[00:00:31.460]and this will takes the place of the BGMA Winter Meeting,
[00:00:36.720]which is typically held in January or February.
[00:00:39.600]All farmers and ranchers are invited to attend and
[00:00:42.980]learn how other producers are using conservation practices
[00:00:46.440]to improve their bottom-line while protecting water quality.
[00:00:51.020]The focus of the event is to encourage the exchange
[00:00:53.880]of conservation production ideas between farmers,
[00:00:56.560]ranchers and supporting agriculture professionals.
[00:01:00.100]Many of the speakers are farmers, sharing their experiences, tips and tricks.
[00:01:05.980]Rick Clark from Williamsport, Indiana, will start the day with the keynote address.
[00:01:11.160]Focusing on a regenerative soil health management system,
[00:01:15.160]Rick uses nature to replace costly farm inputs.
[00:01:19.777]He will share his journey into organic no-till
[00:01:22.778]and the lessons learned along the way.
[00:01:25.823]Jason Mauck, Mitch Hora, Paul Jasa, Roy Thompson and others
[00:01:31.900]will discuss topics ranging from equipment setup, cropping tips,
[00:01:36.180]grazing practices, innovative technology, and value-added
[00:01:40.300]products, to discussions on incentives for conservation.
[00:01:44.320]With 15 breakout sessions, attendees can customize the day to fit their needs.
[00:01:50.480]The event will wrap-up with a local farmer panel discussing how
[00:01:54.480]they have implemented the ideas locally on their own operations.
