A team of talented Huskers work behind and in front of the camera to produce "Home Again," UNL's 2024 national TV spot. Surgical space robots and a team of university engineers led by Professor Shane Farritor are the focus at this filming location.

[00:00:00.040]Virtual incision is a company commercializing research out of the
[00:00:12.180]University of Nebraska. We make small robots for soft tissue surgery.
[00:00:15.960]Really happy today to have a big crew here filming some video of the robot that we sent to space.
[00:00:26.120]So we designed the payload that would be used to send the surgical robot to space and so that
[00:00:40.080]included all the support electronics and the box basically that it had to travel in in order to
[00:00:48.080]meet the the NASA requirements. Scene 17 Ape take one. So we're gonna film payload, so we got
[00:00:56.120]the flight unit back. Sent that up in January and, yeah, we got it back from space so it's back and
[00:01:03.920]we're got we got the data from it now it's time to check it out and show it off. Something like this,
[00:01:08.960]or do I need to like lean back some more? It's been really cool as an undergrad, and also as a graduate student,
[00:01:13.900]to be able to work on this project and it's been really cool interacting with
[00:01:17.200]different people like Boeing contractors and NASA employees, and then also the
[00:01:23.720]people at Nebraska have been amazing.

[00:01:29.220]So I'm Nebraskan through and through. I was born and raised in a little town called Ravenna, Nebraska
[00:01:34.180]right in the middle of the state, farming community. My parents owned a hardware
[00:01:38.040]store there, so I was kind of a mechanical engineer from birth working
[00:01:41.620]in that little hardware store. So, really happy now to be a professor at the
[00:01:45.100]University and see a lot of local kids go through and happy to see their
[00:01:50.800]success. I'm really grateful I've been working with him since 2018, and I've
[00:01:56.500]really felt like he's provided me with lots of opportunities to grow. He's one
[00:02:06.180]of the baddest dudes on the planet, so it's... like I said a privilege
[00:02:10.060]working for him.
