- [00:00:04.840]Hello and welcome to our 2024 NSC presentation on joining a
- [00:00:09.245]panolamic sorority.
- [00:00:11.880]My name is Devin Johansson and I serve as Coordinator with
- [00:00:14.669]Fraternity and Sorority Life.
- [00:00:16.400]I also serve as our Panolamic Advisor Here on the left we have
- [00:00:20.000]Lee Tiedemann.
- [00:00:21.200]She is our Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
- [00:00:24.080]You may see either one of us giving this presentation if you
- [00:00:27.300]were to see it in person, but we we have both have a heavy hand
- [00:00:30.680]in recruitment this year.
- [00:00:33.080]Here we have our Panellic recruitment team.
- [00:00:34.680]This is our student recruitment team.
- [00:00:36.480]Left on the left here we have Bella Rodriguez, our Vice
- [00:00:39.280]President of Recruitment Logistics.
- [00:00:41.080]And on the right we have Madeline Thompson.
- [00:00:43.320]She is our Vice President of Recruitment Personnel.
- [00:00:46.920]So just to jump right in to our content here, we have 4-4
- [00:00:50.956]councils here at UNL and Fraternity Life.
- [00:00:54.320]Our first one I'd like to highlight is our Inter
- [00:00:56.798]Fraternity Council also known as IFC.
- [00:00:59.160]We have 25 of those chapters here on campus with with sixteen
- [00:01:02.247]of those having chapter facilities.
- [00:01:04.480]Of those 16 chapter facilities, we have 13 on City campus and
- [00:01:08.185]three on East Campus.
- [00:01:09.960]Our Inter Fraternity Council is our only fraternity specific
- [00:01:13.017]council on our campus.
- [00:01:14.920]Next we have our Multicultural Greek Council or our MGC.
- [00:01:18.520]These are our Asian interests, our Latin interests and our
- [00:01:21.542]multicultural interest groups.
- [00:01:23.520]These are both fraternities and sororities and we have eight of
- [00:01:26.157]those chapters here on our campus.
- [00:01:28.160]Next we have our national panel and the council OR and PHC also
- [00:01:32.215]known as the Divine Nine.
- [00:01:34.200]We have three of those chapters here on our campus.
- [00:01:37.800]One that I do want to make is our Multicultural Greek Council
- [00:01:41.035]and our national panel and the council do not have chapter
- [00:01:44.113]facilities on our campus, but they do do a lot of their
- [00:01:47.035]chapter business and hang out in the Jackie Gone Multicultural
- [00:01:50.323]Center which is connected to the Nebraska Union.
- [00:01:53.360]And then finally finally we have Panolinic Association and also
- [00:01:56.560]known as PHA, that's us.
- [00:01:58.920]We have sixteen of those chapters here on our campus and
- [00:02:02.561]thirteen of those 16 have chapter facilities which are all
- [00:02:06.330]located on city campus.
- [00:02:09.840]I do want to highlight our Panolinic associate chapters as
- [00:02:12.495]well.
- [00:02:12.960]So our first one here is Alpha Omega Epsilon and they are a new
- [00:02:16.973]sorority to our campus and they are coming fall 2024.
- [00:02:20.600]They will not be participating in primary recruitment, however
- [00:02:24.306]they will be recruiting immediately after primary
- [00:02:27.248]recruitment has concluded on August 24th.
- [00:02:30.280]They they are a professional and social sorority for our female
- [00:02:34.200]engineering and technical science students or our STEM
- [00:02:37.568]students.
- [00:02:38.720]One thing about them you do not have to be a STEM major to join
- [00:02:41.828]them, but that is just the basis on what they are founded on.
- [00:02:45.280]So if you were to join, that would be something that you
- [00:02:47.910]would be expected to respect as part of the of their sorority
- [00:02:50.772]experience.
- [00:02:51.680]Second, we have Π Al Fukai.
- [00:02:53.040]They are a local Catholic sorority based on the four
- [00:02:56.374]pillars of leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and
- [00:02:59.645]citizenship.
- [00:03:01.240]What I mean by local sorority means they're the only chapter
- [00:03:04.769]of that is called Π Al Fukai in the United States.
- [00:03:07.960]They are just specific to UNL and they're not located anywhere
- [00:03:11.665]else.
- [00:03:12.960]Again, you don't have to be a Catholic, be part of the
- [00:03:16.057]Catholic faith to be joining the sorority.
- [00:03:18.640]However, that is what they base some of their traditions and
- [00:03:21.763]values off of.
- [00:03:23.160]And then third, we have Sigma Alpha.
- [00:03:25.120]They are a professional agricultural sorority promoting
- [00:03:27.936]scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship.
- [00:03:31.400]Π Alpha Chi and Sigma Alpha are both participating in primary
- [00:03:34.500]recruitment this year.
- [00:03:36.120]That looks a little different based on or compared to our
- [00:03:39.127]other chapters, but they there is a chance to meet those
- [00:03:42.083]chapters and talk with them and potentially join them if you are
- [00:03:45.454]interested as well.
- [00:03:48.520]So jumping into our FSL values, we have 5 values here on the
- [00:03:52.251]screen.
- [00:03:53.200]All five of these are overarching values that all of
- [00:03:56.582]our great organizations strive to be a part of that each of
- [00:04:00.412]each of our chapters has their own values, pillars, things that
- [00:04:04.497]they value.
- [00:04:05.520]But these are the five that all of our chapters try to abide by.
- [00:04:08.360]So first we have academic achievement.
- [00:04:10.320]We understand that your your student is a is a sorority
- [00:04:14.143]member or your student is a student first.
- [00:04:17.320]So academic takes priority in in front of this sorority
- [00:04:20.722]experience that there's at any point that you feel like your
- [00:04:24.429]student is struggling in their in their grades or their
- [00:04:27.832]academics.
- [00:04:28.480]We do have really strong support in our community for that.
- [00:04:31.280]A statistic for you is we have our our grade students have a .2
- [00:04:35.262]GPA higher than the non grade students here on campus, which
- [00:04:39.057]is an awesome feat.
- [00:04:40.800]That's due to study hours.
- [00:04:42.240]That's due to just a culture of strong academics that we have in
- [00:04:45.731]place, and there's a really strong expectation that joining
- [00:04:48.954]the Greek community you should still be exceeding very strongly
- [00:04:52.393]in your academics.
- [00:04:54.200]2nd is our leadership development.
- [00:04:55.880]There's many ways to be involved as a leader at UNLS campus in
- [00:04:59.214]general, but specifically within a sorority you can start low
- [00:05:02.495]from.
- [00:05:02.800]From your first year of joining, sitting on a committee, whether
- [00:05:05.747]that's planning social events, helping with homecoming, helping
- [00:05:08.650]with Greek week, whatever that looks like.
- [00:05:10.760]There's ways to get involved right away, and as you progress
- [00:05:13.506]through your experience, you could be a treasurer, vice
- [00:05:16.028]president, You could be a president if you're a sorority.
- [00:05:18.840]There's just so many ways to develop your leadership skills,
- [00:05:21.331]and that's definitely a big part that's integral to our sorority
- [00:05:23.986]experience here.
- [00:05:25.080]Third is our civic engagement.
- [00:05:27.040]So there's three tenants to civic engagement.
- [00:05:28.720]First is the philanthropy portion.
- [00:05:30.440]All of our organizations on our campus, they have a partnering
- [00:05:34.285]of philanthropy that they either donate money to or they help run
- [00:05:38.314]events with them or they just raise to raise money to donate
- [00:05:42.038]to that philanthropy.
- [00:05:43.880]For example, one might be Juvenile Diabetes Research
- [00:05:46.394]Foundation, another one might be Women's Heart Health or the
- [00:05:49.288]Arthritis Foundation, I believe so there's a lot of different
- [00:05:52.230]ones that our authorities are engaged with every year.
- [00:05:54.960]They usually hold one to two events per semester for
- [00:05:57.208]philanthropy.
- [00:05:58.760]Our second tenant is community service.
- [00:06:01.280]Again, a lot of our organizations do do a lot of
- [00:06:03.915]community service, whether that's a campus clean up or they
- [00:06:07.142]are helping at a local elementary school or an after
- [00:06:09.993]school program.
- [00:06:11.040]That's something that they they really enjoy and something they
- [00:06:14.420]do every year.
- [00:06:15.640]So there should be an expectation that if you join a
- [00:06:18.045]sorority that you're doing some community service.
- [00:06:20.560]But usually those opportunities are organized by the sorority,
- [00:06:23.629]so it's not something that you have to seek out yourself as a
- [00:06:26.650]student.
- [00:06:27.280]That third tenant is advocacy.
- [00:06:28.880]So just advocating for social issues or advocating for their
- [00:06:32.776]philanthropy whatever that is and spreading awareness about
- [00:06:36.608]it.
- [00:06:36.960]But that is our third and final tenant of our tenant, of our
- [00:06:39.618]civic engagement.
- [00:06:40.760]4th is community and belonging is our 4th value.
- [00:06:43.880]That's really a trademark piece of a of fraternity and story
- [00:06:47.244]life.
- [00:06:47.840]That's really the best part of joining this community is you
- [00:06:51.038]gain friends.
- [00:06:51.960]You gain a lot of individuals that think in the same or are
- [00:06:55.143]like minded as far as what they want out of college, what they
- [00:06:58.486]value, what they think is important, where to whatever
- [00:07:01.404]that is, if that's what's important about academics,
- [00:07:04.216]what's important about being social and making new friends.
- [00:07:07.640]But that community belonging piece is really the biggest part
- [00:07:10.885]of joining our of our our community and it really helps
- [00:07:13.817]with student retention as well.
- [00:07:15.440]We've we found that there's higher retention rates through
- [00:07:18.063]all four of our of our FSL councils compared to students
- [00:07:20.598]that are not part of our community.
- [00:07:22.680]And then 5th, the 5th value here is inclusive excellence.
- [00:07:26.400]We have so many chapters here on our campus that that offer so
- [00:07:29.798]many different things whether that's they offer different
- [00:07:32.927]opportunities for social engagement on campus or they
- [00:07:35.841]have different values, different things that they believe in,
- [00:07:39.186]things that they are are important to them.
- [00:07:41.840]And so we really think that no matter your race, your identity,
- [00:07:45.268]your religion, whoever you are that that there is a place for
- [00:07:48.590]you on our campus and that there is a ace one of our sororities
- [00:07:52.018]will fit what you're looking for.
- [00:07:54.000]So we really pride ourselves on that inclusive excellence piece
- [00:07:56.666]as well.
- [00:07:58.880]So just to hop into more specific information regarding
- [00:08:02.384]to panalonic association, we have two different ways to join
- [00:08:06.201]a recruitment or to join through recruitment.
- [00:08:09.280]That first one is our primary recruitment process and I'll
- [00:08:12.259]explain more of of about what that means later in a little
- [00:08:15.238]bit.
- [00:08:15.800]And 2nd is our open recruitment process.
- [00:08:19.920]So the first that primary recruitment process, this
- [00:08:23.003]usually takes place the week before school starts every fall.
- [00:08:26.960]It only happens once per year and this fall it'll be taking
- [00:08:30.160]place Sunday, August 18th through Saturday, August 24th.
- [00:08:34.520]We have roughly 800 students that participate in this every
- [00:08:37.957]year and this is the only time that all fifteen of our chapters
- [00:08:41.623]besides Alpha Omega Epsilon, who is who will be recruiting after
- [00:08:45.347]that, This is the only time that all 15 will be taking new
- [00:08:48.727]members at the same time.
- [00:08:50.360]So if you really want to you know have the full experience,
- [00:08:53.904]get to know and meet all of our all fifteen of our chapters,
- [00:08:57.507]This is the best thing to do for that if you want.
- [00:09:00.600]If you are interested in in going through this process,
- [00:09:04.264]you're gonna need to register by or on July 9th to guarantee a
- [00:09:08.386]spot and recruitment.
- [00:09:09.760]Registration has been open since May 13th, so there's we do have
- [00:09:13.314]about 8 weeks of time there to to register.
- [00:09:16.440]One thing about primary recruitment is almost everyone
- [00:09:19.470]that participates will have an opportunity to join a chapter
- [00:09:22.831]and that is if you that is a fact.
- [00:09:24.760]If you maximize your options throughout the week by attending
- [00:09:28.728]all the invitations that you're that you are invited back to as
- [00:09:32.824]a participant and preferencing as many houses as you have on
- [00:09:36.728]preference round, which you can have up to two.
- [00:09:40.200]So it is 100% guaranteed to have a bid only and only if you
- [00:09:43.247]participate in all of your recruitment events throughout
- [00:09:46.142]the week.
- [00:09:48.440]A little more about primary recruitment as well is our
- [00:09:50.365]values based recruitment.
- [00:09:51.960]So the way that UNL does that, we really value aligning on
- [00:09:55.795]values between the chapters and between you, the PNMS that are
- [00:09:59.890]participating.
- [00:10:01.080]So in order to do this, we have you, the PNM fill out a values
- [00:10:05.135]bracket over the summer.
- [00:10:06.680]That kind of it's kind of like a March Madness style bracket
- [00:10:09.927]where you identify your top value and that value will guide
- [00:10:13.122]you through the whole week.
- [00:10:14.640]So you'll have conversations based on that value with the
- [00:10:17.389]chapters and you'll kind of see and their values will show
- [00:10:20.186]through as well through those conversations.
- [00:10:22.520]But those chapter invitations throughout the week are based on
- [00:10:25.261]those connections you make to the values that can and the
- [00:10:27.784]connections you make through those conversations.
- [00:10:30.240]And we really find that this helps build a stronger bond
- [00:10:33.293]between the members, between USPNMS and between the chapters
- [00:10:36.562]to help foster a positive environment and a more of a
- [00:10:39.455]positive five through recruitment to really focus on
- [00:10:42.294]those values that are that are important to you.
- [00:10:47.320]Rowgamma is.
- [00:10:47.960]So if you're not familiar with what a Rowgamma is, they are a
- [00:10:51.597]students that's already a part of a sorority, usually an
- [00:10:54.941]upperclassman that is a disaffiliated sorority member
- [00:10:58.109]guide that will guide the students through the recruitment
- [00:11:01.570]process.
- [00:11:02.040]They will have dinners with them the whole week, They will meet
- [00:11:05.588]with them every day, They will be outside the house or outside
- [00:11:09.080]the facility during the recruitment events.
- [00:11:11.840]That someone that they can bounce off, bounce ideas off of,
- [00:11:14.766]talk through their thoughts, they will really be the best
- [00:11:17.596]resource for your student during recruitment.
- [00:11:20.400]So it is heavily important to to be responding to the the Rogamas
- [00:11:24.920]over the summer 'cause they will reach out to the student right
- [00:11:29.304]as you register.
- [00:11:30.640]So they will be in contact with you right after that.
- [00:11:33.880]So they will, you know, be there for you to ask any questions.
- [00:11:38.040]They will be available over the summer and then before the week
- [00:11:41.518]starts on that Sunday, they will be assigned A Rogamma group and
- [00:11:45.051]they'll have the Rogamma the whole week.
- [00:11:47.400]So it's a really cool resource that we have put in place for
- [00:11:49.949]for any participants that go through the process.
- [00:11:54.240]So our primary recruitment dates this year, it will start the
- [00:11:57.275]first the week before the start of the fall semester.
- [00:12:00.440]August 18th is a Sunday that is move in day.
- [00:12:03.080]So you will move in as normal, you'll move in early and UNL
- [00:12:06.707]will provide you with that date and that time when you need to
- [00:12:10.516]move in.
- [00:12:11.720]And then that night you'll have P&M Orientation.
- [00:12:14.000]You'll meet your Rogue Gamma group for the first time.
- [00:12:16.560]You'll be with all of the attendees and we'll kind of go
- [00:12:19.254]over the week again.
- [00:12:20.640]Monday is August 19th.
- [00:12:22.080]They will have their first portion of Welcome Round, and
- [00:12:24.924]then on Tuesday is the second portion of Welcome Round.
- [00:12:27.720]Well, you will meet all fifteen of our chapters.
- [00:12:31.000]August 21st is our Philanthropy round.
- [00:12:33.240]You can have up to 10 invitations on this day and
- [00:12:35.723]they'll go and the chapters will talk through what their
- [00:12:38.555]philanthropy is, maybe what events they do to support them
- [00:12:41.486]throughout the year.
- [00:12:42.840]So it's really another step towards learning more about that
- [00:12:45.802]sorority.
- [00:12:47.040]August 22nd is Sister Sisterhood Round and you can have up to six
- [00:12:50.673]invitations for this round.
- [00:12:53.320]They often show a video at this round that'll give you a a
- [00:12:56.760]chapter facility tour if it's a chapter with the facility.
- [00:13:00.400]So you'll get an again, another step towards learning more about
- [00:13:03.822]that group and what maybe membership will look like in
- [00:13:06.718]that sorority Friday is preference day, preference
- [00:13:09.404]round.
- [00:13:10.440]You can have up to two invitations that day, and you'll
- [00:13:14.676]often times sit through a ceremony of some sort that the
- [00:13:18.989]chapter puts on.
- [00:13:20.360]This is really your biggest look and your biggest insight to what
- [00:13:23.594]is the experience of being a member in that sorority.
- [00:13:26.600]Finally, on August 24th is your bid day.
- [00:13:29.520]That is when after you put in your preferences the night
- [00:13:32.603]before, you will open your envelope that has the chapter
- [00:13:35.687]that you are joining and you'll run home to your chapters.
- [00:13:38.880]So that's a very exciting day.
- [00:13:40.840]It's a it's a big day of celebration.
- [00:13:42.760]So it's a really, really, really cool experience and that really
- [00:13:45.360]caps the week.
- [00:13:46.640]Our best advice to you is to keep an open mind throughout the
- [00:13:49.675]process, always attend the events that you are invited back
- [00:13:52.613]to.
- [00:13:53.200]All of our chapters are so excited to meet you all and so
- [00:13:55.811]we really encourage that you go to every event that you are
- [00:13:58.513]invited to just to get to know all the chapters.
- [00:14:01.280]Any any prior knowledge you might have had about these
- [00:14:04.439]chapters before the week might be washed away when you get to
- [00:14:08.000]know some of the members and have those conversations.
- [00:14:11.160]So we really encourage that you keep an open mind throughout the
- [00:14:14.187]whole process.
- [00:14:16.200]So for for preparing for panel recruitment, like I spoke a
- [00:14:19.283]little bit about earlier, applications are available on
- [00:14:22.210]the website, on our website now and they have to be completed on
- [00:14:25.607]or before July 9th.
- [00:14:26.960]There is a registration cost and we're going to need your high
- [00:14:30.033]school transcripts.
- [00:14:30.960]So if you need to be requesting those earlier, that'd be good to
- [00:14:34.189]to work on that ahead of time.
- [00:14:36.080]If your students living on campus, they will be registered
- [00:14:38.514]for early move in automatically and that's something that you
- [00:14:41.073]won't UNL housing will take care of.
- [00:14:42.720]So once you've registered, there's nothing else you need to
- [00:14:45.590]do as long as you filled out your housing contract, UNL will
- [00:14:48.509]take care of your early move in.
- [00:14:50.960]We also encourage your students to join us at one of our
- [00:14:53.530]informational Zoom meetings over the summer.
- [00:14:56.040]These will include a short presentation on what the week
- [00:14:58.936]will look like as well as kind of AQ and a portion as well to
- [00:15:02.088]ask any open questions to to our recruitment team.
- [00:15:05.040]Session one is on Friday June 14th at 6:00 PM and session two
- [00:15:08.497]is on Monday July 8th at 6:00 PM and these will both be on Zoom
- [00:15:12.066]be virtual.
- [00:15:12.720]So some P&M education that we have that we require for all
- [00:15:16.757]participants in primary recruitment, something that
- [00:15:20.090]we've been doing is our is our two hazing awareness courses.
- [00:15:24.000]So those are both online and virtual.
- [00:15:26.120]The first one's Hazing Prevention 101 that will be due
- [00:15:29.328]due on July 31st.
- [00:15:30.560]The 2nd is a additional model or Module 2 that is our Fraternity
- [00:15:34.790]and Story Life specific module that's also due on July 31st.
- [00:15:39.680]I did speak about the values bracket that is what I value
- [00:15:42.596]training is.
- [00:15:43.200]It's that bracket that you determine your top value that
- [00:15:46.457]will also be due July 31st.
- [00:15:48.440]Information for all three of those first trainings are is
- [00:15:51.380]included in your registration e-mail confirmation e-mail.
- [00:15:54.640]So once you register, an e-mail will automatically be emailed to
- [00:15:57.921]you and it will have all the information that you need to
- [00:16:00.849]access the courses and to complete them in time for
- [00:16:03.474]recruitment.
- [00:16:04.400]And then finally we have choices alcohol education that's
- [00:16:07.145]completed during recruitment week with the rogamas in person.
- [00:16:12.120]So now our open recruitment process, we have more than 125
- [00:16:14.987]women joined through this process we call informal
- [00:16:17.466]recruitment are also known as COB or continuous open bidding.
- [00:16:20.880]It's very relaxed.
- [00:16:22.760]Chapters might just have open events that you can attend or
- [00:16:25.768]invite you to coffee or to dinner and just to chat with
- [00:16:28.576]them, but that takes place immediately following primary
- [00:16:31.435]recruitment, so right after midday those are This process is
- [00:16:34.494]beginning and chapters are reaching out to individuals and
- [00:16:37.452]individuals are reaching out to Chapters as well.
- [00:16:40.360]If you're interested, you can sign up to put yourself on the
- [00:16:42.962]interest form on our website.
- [00:16:44.200]But I would also encourage that if you have specific chapters in
- [00:16:47.695]mind, to reach out to them immediately after primary
- [00:16:50.546]recruitment through Instagram.
- [00:16:52.680]And then one note, special note about this is not all chapters
- [00:16:55.320]can't participate in open recruitment, it just depends on
- [00:16:57.751]how many they get during primary recruitment.
- [00:16:59.880]So they might be full, they might not have space.
- [00:17:02.040]So again, I would encourage participating in primary
- [00:17:04.706]recruitment if you do want a chance to meet all fifteen of
- [00:17:07.675]our chapters, so just some joining commitments, obviously
- [00:17:10.593]it's a very it's a it's a time commitment as well.
- [00:17:13.440]So you'll have a chapter meeting once a week and then after that
- [00:17:17.166]there might be different requirements that the chapter
- [00:17:20.319]might have or if you need to go to a philanthropy events or
- [00:17:23.759]sisterhood events, There's there's just different time
- [00:17:26.912]commitments.
- [00:17:27.600]So it is part of it that you are expecting to commit some time to
- [00:17:30.841]the sorority.
- [00:17:31.720]Second is the financial commitment.
- [00:17:33.280]So there'll be different dues or fees you have to pay.
- [00:17:35.960]That's on the next slide.
- [00:17:36.960]So I will talk about that more chapter commitments.
- [00:17:40.040]This is kind of like your study hours or your community service
- [00:17:43.208]hours that they might require working a philanthropy shift,
- [00:17:46.178]attending sisterhood events, all those different things.
- [00:17:49.200]It just depends on the chapter and what they really require.
- [00:17:51.880]So there is commitments to the chapter and then as well the the
- [00:17:54.655]fun commitment is the lifelong commitment.
- [00:17:56.880]It's more than just, you know, four years or two years if you
- [00:17:59.941]were to join later.
- [00:18:01.080]It's really about that lifelong membership and you need to meet
- [00:18:03.967]your sisters and be a part of that sorority your whole life.
- [00:18:06.720]So that's a really, really awesome part of our community.
- [00:18:09.560]So here's the financial commitments.
- [00:18:11.200]You can see on the left our chapters without housing
- [00:18:14.347]facilities, which is only three of them is our new member fees
- [00:18:18.087]are roughly 326 and the member fees are 335.
- [00:18:21.080]You do not pay both of those costs as a new member.
- [00:18:23.480]You would just pay the new member fee and then after that
- [00:18:26.163]first year you'd be just be paying the 335.
- [00:18:28.840]And then we have our chapters of housing facilities.
- [00:18:30.960]Our average cost is $2678, live in fees $8000 and live out fees
- [00:18:36.376]2300.
- [00:18:37.440]Another note about that if you're a new member you will not
- [00:18:40.095]be living in the facility so it's only $2600 that first year.
- [00:18:43.040]And then if you were to live in after that, it's about 8000 per
- [00:18:46.221]year and then living out after that as a junior or senior $2200
- [00:18:49.402]roughly.
- [00:18:50.080]And you can scan our QR code there for a breakdown of all of
- [00:18:52.886]our chapters costs.
- [00:18:55.320]So some common questions is explaining living requirements.
- [00:18:57.880]Most chapters you only live in as a sophomore or junior.
- [00:19:01.120]It's only a couple years.
- [00:19:02.320]And after that they really could be free reign to live where you
- [00:19:04.979]want to as a freshman.
- [00:19:05.880]You usually live in the residence hall, your first year
- [00:19:08.811]letters of recommendation or resumes.
- [00:19:10.800]Those are totally not necessary anymore.
- [00:19:12.440]We do not gather those.
- [00:19:13.800]We do not require those.
- [00:19:15.240]So we do recommend that you don't need to pay for resume or
- [00:19:17.943]anything like that.
- [00:19:19.000]But if you do want to submit a letter of recommendation or
- [00:19:21.694]resume, definitely look at the chapters website and see if they
- [00:19:24.617]accept them there.
- [00:19:25.440]It really just depends on the chapter.
- [00:19:27.360]And then next is should your student site on favorite
- [00:19:31.097]chapters.
- [00:19:31.880]We recommend that you come in with a blank slate.
- [00:19:33.920]You just come in and and meet the women for who they are and
- [00:19:36.250]that's how you you're judged throughout the week.
- [00:19:38.160]And then lastly is how can I support my daughter through the
- [00:19:41.130]process.
- [00:19:41.520]As a parent, we really recommend that your student, do you call
- [00:19:45.079]your student, maybe at the end of the day, listen to them.
- [00:19:48.360]They probably had a lot of thoughts in their mind, so
- [00:19:50.520]really the best way is to just listen to them.
- [00:19:52.800]They might just need to listening here throughout the
- [00:19:54.461]week because it is a stressful week.
- [00:19:57.400]So after that, that's all I have.
- [00:19:59.360]Here's our recruitment registration and that QR code as
- [00:20:01.796]well as our recruitment survival guide, chapter information and
- [00:20:04.580]academic reports.
- [00:20:05.640]If you of course, if you have any questions, please reach out
- [00:20:08.263]to us at that e-mail or call the office phone right there.
- [00:20:10.920]We'll be more than happy to answer your questions.
- [00:20:13.480]And that is all I have.
- [00:20:14.560]Thank you so much for listening today and have a good rest of
- [00:20:17.109]your day.
