[00:00:04.954]I'm the assistant professor of practice
[00:00:06.639]in Secondary English Education
[00:00:08.272]here at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
[00:00:11.211]Before I came to the university,
[00:00:12.545]I was a secondary English teacher.
[00:00:15.098]I taught for nearly ten years
[00:00:16.766]in public high schools here in Nebraska
[00:00:18.785]and I loved that work.
[00:00:20.286]And now I get to work with
[00:00:21.988]pre-service teachers
[00:00:23.006]who are going into their classrooms,
[00:00:26.259]in the next couple of years.
[00:00:27.777]And to prepare them for the work
[00:00:29.079]that they're going to be doing
[00:00:30.030]with high school
[00:00:30.580]and middle school students.
[00:00:31.564]And I have found that
[00:00:32.916]I love that just as much as I loved
[00:00:34.718]what I did before.
[00:00:36.569]I am still,
[00:00:37.804]I would consider myself
[00:00:38.788]new to the university
[00:00:39.806]this is my fourth year in this,
[00:00:42.959]first year in this role,
[00:00:44.077]fourth year at the university.
[00:00:45.729]And
[00:00:48.098]one of the things that I love
[00:00:49.416]best is the ways in which
[00:00:51.067]I get to collaborate
[00:00:52.152]with my faculty colleagues
[00:00:54.988]and that we're all working towards
[00:00:57.273]preparing the best teachers
[00:00:58.925]we can for greater Nebraska and the U.S.
[00:01:02.429]and beyond.
