[00:00:13.020]When someone's becoming, like taking that step
[00:00:15.120]from like a bedroom musician to someone
[00:00:17.010]that has to play in live environments,
[00:00:18.600]be like basements, bars or even outdoor venues,
[00:00:22.620]the gear that you would have as a beginner is not something
[00:00:24.870]that you would take on such stages.
[00:00:26.670]You know, you need something bigger and more powerful,
[00:00:29.310]so as part of that, we've built out an amplifier head
[00:00:33.120]and a speaker cabinet, as well as this like combination
[00:00:35.970]of digital and analog effects unit
[00:00:37.800]to run your signal through
[00:00:40.140]to give you some more options on stage.
[00:00:41.880]I am an active gigging musician here in Lincoln,
[00:00:45.420]so this was really just a passion project for me.
[00:00:48.120]As an electrical engineer,
[00:00:49.140]I like to design some of the circuits that I would use
[00:00:51.570]on stage, like on the floor.
[00:00:53.010]I hadn't done any amps before, but I decided,
[00:00:58.230]yeah, it's about time.
[00:00:59.070]It's a natural course of things, so I thought it'd be fun
[00:01:01.560]to do all of this as a project
[00:01:03.420]and everyone in my group just ran with it.
[00:01:05.340]Some of the challenges were just like integrating everything
[00:01:08.640]and just like, even like picking out exactly
[00:01:10.560]what we were going to do because it's so wide open
[00:01:13.440]and it's like, what kind of like circuits are we gonna use?
[00:01:16.410]The whole digital side was a lot to think about
[00:01:19.920]and then on the amp side,
[00:01:21.290]it was designing everything without using vacuum tubes
[00:01:24.960]because those are big and heavy and outdated
[00:01:27.090]and just like, how are we going to design everything?
[00:01:31.290]That was one of the major challenges.
[00:01:33.180]I had to completely reorder a board because it didn't work
[00:01:36.420]and like redesign it entirely,
[00:01:38.878]so I know where I would take it and where I wouldn't,
[00:01:41.594]but there's a gig later this summer that I would use it at.
