[00:00:20.538]Across the state, Nebraska 4-H invites community members to celebrate:
[00:00:25.851]4-H Spirit Day which was celebrated on Thursday, February 1st
[00:00:31.309]4-H Volunteer Appreciation Day this Thursday, February 8th
[00:00:37.271]4-H Supporters and Donors Appreciation Day on Thursday, February 15th
[00:00:43.848]Day of 4-H Service or Give Back to Your Community on Thursday, February 22nd
[00:00:50.594]and Leap into 4-H – Get Enrolled in 4-H Online on Thursday, February 29th.
[00:00:58.104]In addition to celebrating 4-H, youth are invited to join 4-H
[00:01:02.484]and complete the annual enrollment process during the month of February.
[00:01:08.242]By becoming enrolled members, youth have the opportunity to
[00:01:12.332]join a club, exhibit projects at the county and State Fair,
[00:01:16.822]participate in contests, and apply for special awards and recognition.
[00:01:22.859]4-H, is the nation’s largest youth development and
[00:01:26.979]empowerment organization, which cultivates confident
[00:01:30.979]young people who tackle issues that
[00:01:33.046]matter most in their communities right now.
[00:01:36.402]In the United States, 4-H programs
[00:01:38.402]empower six million young people through
[00:01:42.149]the 110 land-grant universities and Cooperative Extension in more than
[00:01:48.116]3,000 local offices serving every county and parish in the country.
[00:01:54.640]Outside the United States, independent, country-led
[00:01:59.411]4-H organizations empower one million
[00:02:02.091]young people in more than 50 countries.
[00:02:05.961]In Nebraska, 4-H is present in all 93 counties.
[00:02:10.684]4-H is Nebraska’s largest youth development organization –
[00:02:14.875]empowering nearly 140,000 across the state
[00:02:19.659]with the skills to lead for a lifetime.
[00:02:22.818]With the support of 12,000 volunteers,
[00:02:26.802]Nebraska 4-H helps youth develop
[00:02:28.828]and practice life skills through clubs, camps,
[00:02:32.872]school enrichment, afterschool, and special interest programs.
[00:02:38.231]In Holt and Boyd Counties, more than 900 4-H members
[00:02:42.440]and over 50 volunteers were involved in 4-H this last year.
