[00:00:05.905]On behalf of the conference planning committee I would like to invite you to join the Water and Integrated Cropping Systems
[00:00:11.211]conference on October 24that the Graduate Hotel here in Lincoln.
[00:00:16.282]The theme of this years's conference is Moving Beyond the Ordinary.
[00:00:19.252]So the goal of the WICS hub and this conference is to provide connection points and improve collaboration among IANR faculty
[00:00:26.126]across our 3 mission areas, Research, Teaching, and Extension..
[00:00:29.362]To register for the conference, go to the WICS website WICS.UNL.EDU
[00:00:35.635]The sessions for the conference will include a mix of presentations, panel discussions and interactive conversations
[00:00:44.010]The first session is titled "Moving Beyond the Ordinary" and will focus on the “how” of team science.
[00:00:51.284]Our second session will look at "Fostering the Mission Integration Pathway"
[00:00:57.857]So we hear from the deans across each of the mission areas.
[00:01:03.263]Right after lunch we will have an interactive session, this will be around "Creating Broader Impacts"
[00:01:08.968]and helping us think through our unique contribution and role in creating impact and creating impactful teams.
[00:01:15.742]We're going to have a session titled "Rethinking Data Management", on how we can effectively use and leverage our data.
[00:01:22.482]Our last panel discussion will focus on "Addressing The Unexpected" .
[00:01:27.353]As we get to the end of the day several of our unit leaders are going to be asked to help us reflect on
[00:01:32.625]the information gathered over the course of the day,
[00:01:35.695]with some discussion and practical applications for cross disciplinary or cross mission area efforts.

[00:01:47.006]this will highlighting work being done by students and faculty within WICS
