- [00:00:57.475]also get this from newspaper or from Chabella Guzman our
- [00:01:02.615]communications specialist, but there is another
- [00:01:05.877]easier way. Is you can get this on your phone
- [00:01:09.498]through a text. So, just click on this button put
- [00:01:12.685]your name and your phone number in there. Every Monday,
- [00:01:17.643]you will get a text alert with all the crop water use information.
- [00:01:24.596]I’m going to show you how that text looks like,
- [00:01:28.337]it's really, really simple. So, this is how the text message looks like,
- [00:01:34.360]this shows you the crop water use for last
- [00:01:37.757]week and also estimated crop water use for this week. So, how do we
- [00:01:42.452]really read this text, let's use corn for example.
- [00:01:47.778]We’ll show you according to different potential growth stage
- [00:01:53.088]that we have observing in the valley. So if your corn
- [00:01:57.384]is at V14 you should look at over here. So, the
- [00:02:02.597]estimated crop water use in last week, is one point six eight
- [00:02:11.335]inches, and then for this week, the estimate is
- [00:02:14.895]the estimate is one point six five. Where if your corn
- [00:02:19.719]is further in advanced in growth stage, the sixteen to
- [00:02:25.266]silk blister dough your estimated crop water
- [00:02:31.223]use should look at over here. So on and so forth
- [00:02:35.569]for dry edible beans, grass, sugar beets, and alfalfa.
- [00:02:40.905]The other thing is we’ll send you using the same
- [00:02:44.695]phone number every time so you might want
- [00:02:49.351]to save this number as something you’ll remember so it
- [00:02:53.781]doesn’t look like junk message sending to your phone
- [00:02:59.581]every Monday. Lastly, this is just a reference,
- [00:03:06.578]your actual crop water use will vary depending on
- [00:03:11.708]a lot of factors, soil, weather, hybrids, variety, many things
- [00:03:19.038]could affect that, and this is just for a reference.
- [00:03:23.816]That’s all I have and don’t forget this Wednesday (Aug. 23, 2023)
- [00:03:29.156]we’re going to have our annual field day at the
- [00:03:31.707]Panhandle Research and Extension Center and I
- [00:03:34.737]really hope to see you over there. Stay cool, and
